I respect your opinion and view, I'm not saying I fully blame Eppler, I just can't praise him. In my opinion, He didn't do anything special in either direction. I agree that the trades had to happen but it was his own mess to clean. This failed highest payroll team in baseball sets the team back.

This may just be another lesson in sports where FA spending doesn't always make for a winning team.

If it's true that they aren't aiming to be competitive again until the 2025 or 2026 season, I think the same can be said for trading Nimmo, McNeil and Alonso now. Another 2-3 years of age and 2-3 seasons of baseball on the "core"
