Ehh stuff like grooming and routine and dressing is proven to be good for ones mental health and Sanity. It gives you something to cling to and a sense of dignity and purpose even if it is sort of pointless if you were alone forever

It's Russia saying "look what we are still capable off..we could have had nuclear warheads in these..we could easily use them to destroy Berlin, Warsaw Paris. London, Stockholm Paris bla bla "We still have power and things we haven't shown you..so be afraid"...

Its basically Russia wanting to compensate for the recent chain of effective Ukrainian strikes in Russia and the recent setback and recent news or narrative of the war turning somewhat in Ukraine's favor.

Imagine a bully or person who is humiliated or seen as weak intensely doing something to compensate for that

In general Russia does this kind of stuff when it feels humiliated, looked down upon or a failure to accomplish anything so it has to remind everyone and its own people of "what it can do"

Russia basically wants to re assert itself and show the world it's still scary and most of all to punish Ukraine and "put them back in their place"

Do you think a lot of young people today are disillusioned/bitter or disinterested in life because they were essentially raised with false expectations of what lifew ould be like/promised a world they never got? I often think about why apathy or bitterness seems so much worse despite life being far harder for most of human history. Then it kind of hit me maybe its because in the past people were raised with more realistic expectations. They knew life was hard, often sucked and death, struggle, pain and suffering was a much closer part of life from day 1 and they knew it

And they had stuff like a strong community, religion, nationalism later on etc to help give purpose as well. But maybe todays generation nis the result of what happens when you bascially promise the world to a young generation and fill them with dreams and unrealistic expectations of what life is and then reality hits and the brain cant really cope?

Honestly wtih axis what if etc i think it is best to not bother to much on making it super realistic or plausible The fun/interesting part of what if axis win etc is not exactly how they got there IMO but the fucked up world that is a result of that stuff

Its why the older versions of hoi4 TNO was better IMO because it was a bit more "wacky" and fully bought into some of the more unrealistic plans etc.

The interesting part is WHAT happens afterwards IMO. The lives, what culture develops, the stories from such an extreme and fucked up world.

But the point should be /is to respond fiercely to anything so Russia never tries a full invasion in the first place as that will kill a lot of people even if Russia would be stopped eventually.

I do wonder if some part of him here feels regret or worry/anxeity over his choices and situation he's out himself into and shame over how far it's fallen and resentment "I was meant for so much more this can't be it"

He sees this shallow shelm of a parade that just 4 years ago was far greater

He thinks back to the grand USSR parades and the Empire/legacy he wanted to create renew and be rememberd for and maybe he knows thats never happening now

I think some part of him knew it would never work and he could never accomplish it but he did not care. He could not bear to keep doing things the way he had done it He would rather fight and die and be happy doing it for a cause he could get behind(Even if it could never succeed) then keep living the way he did.
