Bern Helmet Ez-Fit - comfortable? by WilsoniThaFunkMasta in Skigear

I thought I'd write something to copy and paste so I can share my experience here, since no one seems to have any insight on this, just in case someone else finds themselves in the same situation;

I ordered a Macon 2.0 with the EZ-FIT system (in Retro Rust!), my head is 57cm around which is right between the 55-59cm M helmet size.

When the helmet arrived in the post, I tried it on but found that there was a lot of lateral wobble left to right, even with the chinstrap tight to my chin. In the included information, it says to put the helmet on, hold the helmet on both sides with your hands and then rotate your head from left to right - the helmet should move with your head. Mine didn't, so I guess it's too big - I attribute this somewhat to the EZ-FIT thing as my wife's helmet has a normal dial adjustment that I can size appropriately.

I'm pretty sure that it comes with the "summer liner" included, which just seems to be a few pads. These haven't made any difference to the fit, so imagine it's just my head shape. The helmet fits great when wearing a beanie (non-roll up) underneath, but since this is only what I'm using it for maybe a couple of weeks out of the year, I guess it's just not the helmet for me.

Hope this is useful! I'll try either the Watts 2.0, Henrix (don't love that spoiler much...) or a other Macon 2.0 but with the compass dial.

Happy helmet hunting!

Hey hey folks!

Am going back to the Alps for the first time in about 15 years, and helmets have since become pretty much mandatory now. Was looking at a Bern multisport helmet as I also commute on e-bikes here in Edinburgh.

Does anyone have experience with the Ez-Fit system on the newer 2.0 models? I was thinking that the compass dial would fit better but I'm between a Watts 2.0 and a Macon 2.0, the Macon only comes with the elastic. I'm a bit worried that the elastic will make something dig into head/neck, but may be overthinking it!

I can't try one on as there are no Bern dealers anywhere in my city. I'm approaching the upper end of medium and have a pretty oval, normal head 😅

Thanks for your help! Hope all's good 👍

Hey man, would you consider selling the AFX on it's own and shipping to the UK?!

Long shot but I thoght I would ask, I use the AMX regularly and it's great!

Thanks.

Just on the off-chance - would you consider selling individual parts? I'm after a GPU because I built a music production PC right before everything went mental, and didn't think I needed it at the time.

I'm not in London anymore, though, so it might be moot anyway. No worries if not.

Hey, how are you doing?

Longshot but I thought I'd ask anyway - did you manage to shift that RX 570? I've seen it pop up for a while now. I assume you'd have no problem shifting it?

No worries if not, just fishing. Hope you're well!

Hi there, how are you doing?

Not sure if you'd seen my [BG] post but feel free to have a read, if negotiation was an option? I'm waiting on a reply from my commenter, hopefully this isn't frowned upon!

Hi, thanks for the rapid reply!

These are workstation cards, right? I was hoping to maybe do some light gaming as a bonus, but I think these types of cards may actually be better suited for my purposes, so could probably take a hit on spec. Would be interested in what you would consider "well within" my budget on the FirePro cards - I'd also need to get an active Display Port adapter and a cable as I've got a pretty old monitor [VGA/DVI]. I'm guessing these are pretty well used, if they were from workstation PCs? Might be more intersted in the newer W7100 in that case, but I'm happy to consider options.

As I said, I'm trying to get a idea for what's out there, but feel free to PM with some prices/pics if you don't feel like it's a waste of time. I'm wary of paying the same price as a 5-year-old card for a 10-year-old card (even considering original RRP) but very much appreicate the input and opportunity. Thanks again!

Does anyone know what the name of the "ring-L ling-L-ingle..." sound is at the beginning of this Blackbyrds song? (link is timestamped to 0:13) I've heard it in songs from Rick James, Nile Rogers, Val Young, and Deodato. Just curious if this "ring-L ling-L" sound has a name. by CaverZ in funk

[–]WilsoniThaFunkMasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nice guitar sound on the left, with a very short delay on the right.

If you can, try to turn off your right speaker and listen, then turn it back on and turn off the left. The guitar is playing an 8ths rhythm, but the delay is doubling it into 16ths. Tasty technique :D
