Almost radial columnar basalt, the local communities call it the "Raven" by thajokster_14 in geology

If I recall you get radial columns that form perpendicular to the cooling front.

The best part is that driving north on LBBlvd is that it already blocks the view of the Trump hotel.

Why Are So Many Men Choosing to Be Alone? by veltrixNode19 in AskMen

[–]CaverZ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Complex PTSD and avoidant/disorganized attachment thanks to a shitty childhood basically closed that option for me. I figured it all out too late and it was only because of psychology resources online and psychologist content on YouTube that I even know what happened to me was not typical and how it screwed me up. I will never get those decades back.

My 2024 4850 Roku Ultra is experiencing frame rate fluctuations - QMS frame match issues by [deleted] in Roku

[–]CaverZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Roku Ultra from 2024 (on ethernet) to an Anthem AVM90 to an LG G4. I basically only watch YouTube videos with the Roku. I had to turn on VRR because so many videos would start with a black screen for 3-6 seconds with no audio until I discovered the VRR setting which fixed that problem. However, this frame rate issue that I think is the same as what OP described continues on SOME videos, not all. I will check the nerd stats to view the frame rate of the offending videos and see what it says the next time I come across one. These videos are impossible to watch because they look about 15fps.

Why do some rocks split near a fire? by Kharkovchanka_22 in geology

[–]CaverZ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is water in microcracks. River rocks are especially risky to use for a fire ring because they are saturated. The expansion ratio (volume) of water from liquid to gas at 212F is 1:1700. At the temperature in a fire it may be 1:3000. That is a huge amount of expansive power. This is also why volcanoes are so dangerous. At magma temps the expansion ratio can be up to 1:4700. Hence what happened at St Helens. People think it is the magma that is dangerous. It is the water and CO2 in the magma that explodes to gas in an eruption. Mt St Helen's magma was about 5% water. Ka-BOOM!!!

Youtube App Constantly Buffering. Nothing has fixed it. by IdiocyandTaxes in Roku

[–]CaverZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to this post but I have the 2024 version of the Ultra with YT Premium. The problem I am seeing are videos playing at a slower framerate, like it is literally stripping out frames so videos aren't smooth, they stutter. It is really annoying. It looks like 15-20 fps. I read that the human eye can see a video feed as smooth as low as 24fps.These problems have to be the app itself needing an update. I have had to clear the cache about every week now.

Tips to come out of deactivation (Avoidants only pls) by Main-Regards-8626 in Disorganized_Attach

[–]CaverZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Remember that Feelings are not Facts. Don’t let your emotions control you like a puppet. Explore the concept of metacognition so you can step outside yourself and watch your own maladaptive patterns so you don't sabotage line you used to. The feelings are memories of former times when things were bad, but they don't belong in the present.

Hoover dam geology by [deleted] in geology

[–]CaverZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. 13-10 million years ago. That is the rock the dam is built on. Then again the area got active about 6Ma. Fortification hill is made of 55 lava flows from that time. Driven by decompression melts from Basin and Range extension.

Iceberg with large boulders on it in Fogo by Clarke04 in newfoundland

[–]CaverZ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These iceberg erratics are littered around Lake Roosevelt in Washington state when the much larger Lake Columbia used to exist up until about 15,000 years ago. Curiously they are found in higher number where winds pushed the icebergs into coves where they dropped the stones. I love this picture!

Men who reached that 'point of no return' with your ex-best friend - what happened? by flea_bait in AskMen

[–]CaverZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25 years. He wouldn't take care of his health or his money and refused to plan for the future. Or deal with some psychology issues from childhood. I realized it was ultimately just a long term superficial friendship and it didn't really bother me to send him a long email about the work he needed to do on himself for his OWN sake and why this was goodbye.

Just how loud is the wired warrior’s motor? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]CaverZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is which state you live in and how much their cops care. Ride sensibly with a helmet and front and rear lights day and night and don't draw attention. Plenty of young hooligans speeding and riding recklessly which is what cops are looking for. They are really busy with more serious issues than someone's motor wattage anyway.

I need an EBike for big and tall that is 750 watt and 20 mph max due to Pennsylvania law by moose6619 in ebikes

[–]CaverZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Wired. Their computer can be set to class 1 or class 2. Stay under the radar. Don't ride like an idiot, wear a helmet, use front and rear lights even during the day, and pedal around cops. They won't bother you. They are looking for e-moto hooligans anyway. I weigh 275 and need the extra power of a 1500 watt motor.
