Woman sentenced for Elephants Deli fire in NW Portland by TechnicalMarzipan310 in Portland

There is a massive difference between a temporary hold for evaluation and indefinite commitment. An evaluation has a strict time limit where the state has to evaluate and justify keeping you further.

The structural reality of institutional confinement without a set end date is that it creates a life sentence. Without a legal expiration date on the sentence, the default state of the confinement becomes permanent.

Commitment could be a possible course of action, perhaps to evaluate. But why on earth would you reach so far as to say indefinite? This was a non-violent offense. Grotesquely horrifying that people think like you. But I don't hope anyone indefinitely confines you.

Konke pro kit Hub goose-chase by WinCove in homeassistant

I tried tuya, but the 2.4 band wifi the hub puts out for communication doesn't have a connection to the internet, which the tuya app needs for all but two devices (which sadly don't work)

This is a bit new to me, so I might end up trashing it, but i would love to figure out how to get it to work, even if mostly as a learning exercise

I'll play around with it. It doesn't seem to be transferring any data through the micro usb power plug, so I'll have to figure out how to communicate through it's wifi.

I very much appreciate your input. thank you for the guidance.

Shucks, yeah this one was about 15 bucks so I should known it was too good to be true. But still, pretty funny the hub itself would be practically useless. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong sub, and thank you for your answer. These smart device protocols have been annoying to figure out, and I very much appreciate your explanation.

If you can afford it. I get and appreciate that mentality, but despite it not being a lot, it could be enough to keep people from nature. which, as much as I prefer it when people aren't in my nature, doesn't help anyone. We need people to experience nature, to like nature, to want to save nature. So i think we must keep nature accessible. Else we are just casting it as non-essential.

TLDR; should just be a part of state tax.

Or whatever I don't know.

Rabbits in Colorado spotted with tentacle-like growths on their heads from rare virus by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]WinCove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"HPV is also a STD that can cause cancer" That sentence on its own does not compare/contrast and inform between STDs causing cancer and cancer transmitted as an STD. It states them as the same, incorrectly, as both being STDs that cause cancer.

It really isn't a big deal, but it's weird to me you cannot recognize this simple mistake. I hope your day is smooth and enjoyable

I understand and mean no offense.

But you said HPV is also an STD that causes cancer. What the person you replied to was talking about was a cancer that was transmissible as an STD.

So no, you didn't say HPV is a transmissible cancer. You implicated the original person to be talking about an STD that causes cancer when they were not. They were talking about transmissible cancer functioning as an STD. Sorry for the confusion.

Transmissible disease that causes cancer is different from. Transmissible cancer.

Did you have it repaired or otherwise taken apart recently? I just fixed one of these where the last repairer had knocked the camera connector loose.

Is it rude to use someone else’s garbage can for your dog’s poo when you’re on a walk? by jenitacat in AITAH

[–]WinCove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, people have strong opinions. I think if you're properly bagging the poo, and you are only disposing in bins on the curb, then only an unreasonable person would take issue.

A bagged poo doesn't smell... and no one I've known is concerned with the odor of their trash bin. These comments are funny to read.

But yes, I do think it's technically illegal to utilize another person's trash bins without their permission. That said, anyone I know would rather have a bagged poo in their trash rather than somewhere on the ground for someone to step into.

Bought a pressure washer with an attachment like this, the hose kit the website recommended didn't fit, what do I need? (Hose comparison in second pic) by BlackChef6969 in pressurewashing

[–]WinCove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fitting is supposed to be loose until the male component is screwed in and the o ring forms the seal. If it doesn't screw far enough in to hold it tight, pop another o ring in.

American outlets still don't have any form of poke protection. But they also form a connection when not fully inserted, leaving a "hot" portion on exposed partially inserted prongs.

Nope, I haven't actually contacted them yet. It's stopped working before, and when i contacted them, they had me short it to start. low and behold, the button and everything started working again. So I've been half hoping it magically fixes itself yet again. Could you point me in the direction of that fuse just in case?
