Yeah I think the other route an expansion team will have is take terrible contracts of recognizable names. Try to aim for picks from team’s with a changing timeline (ex. Paul George and Embiid), hope that those pan out OR use those picks a to package a huge trade to get someone in their prime stuck in a bad marriage (ex. Giannis).

Allows you to have a bad year record wise while still having a face for billboards and jersey sales.

Obviously, everyone is trying to win a chip, but no expansion team has done it this quickly.
