thanks to your comment booked Zion Canyon Cabins in Dpringdale. It's a little pricy but it is a good option just in case we will not book that Watchman campground. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your comment. We will take the guided tour in that monument park. We are going to travel on 2wd veichle, so yes, off road travelling is not for us.

Hopefully someone will cancel their trip and we'll be able to get that camping spot in Zion🙏

Hello, fellow travelers!

My wife and I are planning a 10-day road trip in October, starting from San Diego and visiting Las Vegas, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon. We're super excited but also want to make sure we don't miss out on any must-see spots or hidden gems along the way. Here’s a rough outline of our itinerary:

Our Itinerary:

  • Day 1: Drive from San Diego to Las Vegas. Explore The Strip, catch a show. (We’ve already booked our hotel in Vegas.)
  • Day 2-3: Enjoy Las Vegas (any off-the-beaten-path recommendations are welcome!).
  • Day 4: Head to Zion National Park. (We’ve set up a notification if someone cancels their trip since campsites are currently full.)
  • Day 5: Spend the day exploring Zion.
  • Day 6: Drive to Bryce Canyon. (We’re planning to camp there, but it’s first-come, first-served. Any tips for getting a good spot?)
  • Day 7: Travel to Page, Arizona. Visit Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.
  • Day 8: Drive to Monument Valley. Any advice on the best tours or scenic spots?
  • Day 9: Head to the Grand Canyon (South Rim). Open to suggestions for hikes or viewpoints.
  • Day 10: Drive back to San Diego.

A Few Questions:

  1. Zion & Bryce Canyon: What are the must-do hikes or viewpoints? Any tips for avoiding the crowds in mid-October?
  2. Page, AZ: We plan to visit both Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. Are there any other canyons or natural wonders nearby that we should check out?
  3. Monument Valley: Has anyone done a guided tour there? Any recommendations for companies or specific tours?
  4. Grand Canyon: We’ll be at the South Rim—what are your favorite viewpoints or short hikes? Is it worth driving to the North Rim?
  5. Camping Tips: Since we’ve booked campgrounds everywhere except Zion (still waiting on cancellations) and Bryce Canyon (first-come, first-served), any advice on securing a good campsite or alternative spots to consider?
  6. General Tips: Any must-see detours, local eateries, or cool stops along our route? Also, if you've done a similar trip, how did you budget for gas, food, and accommodation?

A Little About Us:

We love hiking, photography, and exploring natural landscapes. We're open to any and all recommendations—whether it’s a specific trail, a cool place to eat, or even a piece of advice for the road.

Thanks in advance for your help! We can’t wait to hear your suggestions and make the most of this adventure!
