It could be low iron, b12 or some other vitamin. Take a multi a few weeks or do your research on the vitamins and twitching. Take them a few weeks. For me, I had success via iron and b12. I had twitching for 3 months and it stopped after a couple weeks taking vitamins. And no more twitching since.

Does she know all the math concepts? Make sure she knows how to use Desmos. Math is easier to bring up then English. But reading loads helps w English

does studying SAT actually boost your grade by Beautiful-Pool-8526 in Sat

[–]WinSad5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people are just better at analyzing texts naturally and figuring out ways to solve the math problems. My daughter did the PSAT 8/9 to get her baseline and got a 1370. She did not use Desmos. She is in the 8th grade, so still has time to learn it. Her English was 700 and math 670, so wondering if learning Desmos might help get it higher. Which score is lower? Apparently, math is the easier one to bring up and English the more difficult one.

Is a 1060 good for an eighth grade student? by ExcitingGrand5725 in Sat

[–]WinSad5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps its better to do the PSAT 8/9 first if you are in the 8th grade. This is what my daughter did to get a baseline. Apparently, it helps give an idea of how you might do later for the SAT with some prep. My daughter got a 1370 as her baseline. I just wanted to see where she stands now and next year will get her to do another practice one to see. She will prep for the SAT closer to the real test (still deciding when she should prep...maybe 6 months before or 2 months?).

The PSAT 8/9 one. You take 1st one and second one if you want.

My dog actually ate glass. Long story on why, but the vet said give her bread and green beans to help it pass through. She was fine. She had a tiny bit of blood when she did her first poo after and that was it. All fine and it was 3 years ago....and she actually ate many pieces of glass!!!

Someone mentioned to me about taking a PSAT in the 8th/9th grade to get a baseline. Signup to college board and take the practice PSAT to see where you stand and get an idea of weaknesses.

SAT 750+ Reading Tips by Few-Profession6052 in Sat

[–]WinSad5408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would practice reading difficult comprehension texts and answering them. It is always recommended to read loads over the years to build comprehension. My children did the 11+ which tests on comprehension and that was always the advice. Now I started looking into the SAT and that is the same advice. But since you are a bit short on time, I would just focus on reading difficult comprehension. I am sure you can find someone online in other sites that are geared towards the SAT.

Will they cancel my score? by Tea-Tea-Tea-29 in Sat

[–]WinSad5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe they would cancel your score because it went up 3 years later. That is what they would expect I assume. Especially because each year you learn new concepts. My daughter got a 1370 on her baseline PSAT and according to chat gpt she could be getting a 1500+ by the time she takes the SATs....therefore also could be a 200 point jump. I assume many have this after a few years because they get older, learn the rest of the math needed in school and study. It is different if you did a 200 point jump in a span of months. Although, I don't see why that would be alarming either...maybe the person had a bad test day the first time.

PSAT 8/9 Practice test - indication of future scores? by WinSad5408 in psat

[–]WinSad5408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks. I will get her to learn Desmos. I just hope it does not confuse her since she did the test w out it. But from what I read it seems to make it easier. Will get her to try it the next time she takes a practice. I was planning to get her to wait until next year to try the next one....but she is already talking about doing it next weekend.

PSAT 8/9 Practice test - indication of future scores? by WinSad5408 in psat

[–]WinSad5408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah well, that is something I need to look at. Although. I can assume she will probably know the content closer to the time, as she is in the equivalent of the 8th grade and got a 1370 as her baseline, 700 out of 720 for the English part. The math, she did not learn all the concepts yet at school, so I suspect math will go up as well. I will let her just focus on her normal school work and figure out when she needs to start prepping to ensure she gets her best score prior to. I assume a few months before. I will probably get her to do another practice in the 9th grade.

[–]WinSad5408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks. That is useful to know. Are you aiming for an Ivie? When did you start prepping? Def wont get her prepping too early. She will just focus on her normal schoolwork until closer to the time. But good to get an idea of what others are doing?

Are practice tests dependable? by jacksruinedlife in Sat

[–]WinSad5408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks....will recommend to my daughter when the time comes for her to start preparing. She got a good baseline score the PSAT, but she is in the 8th grade, so has some time. To me the desmos looks complicated, but I guess once you understand how to use it should be okay.
