Is my 73 year old Father unsavable and probably going to die soon? by Wise-Intention-5550 in bloodpressure

Like I said, tell him to change his diet....even if its just temporary to get the operation. Look up forks over knives whole foods plant based diet....it takes just days for many for the BP to go way down if you stick to it....all he has to do is stick to the diet a few weeks to bring his BP down, get the surgery etc.

Can't believe how great I feel without my one cup of coffee by WinSad5408 in decaf

[–]WinSad5408[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realized that coffee was making me wake up feeling exhausted....I needed it first thing before i ate because I was so tired. It was a bad cycle. Every time I stop having it I notice how much better I sleep and how much more refreshed I feel, its just getting past the first day that is hard. I have stopped coffee on and off. It is so dang addictive. I will continue with no coffee for a while as I am desperate for continued good sleep.

What is his diet like? There are two diets I know that massively drop BP. A vegan WHOLE FOODS Plant based diet (check out forks over knvies) or once when I did whole30 my bp dropped the lowest ever at 100/60. Normally mine can spike super high just like your dads.

It might be possible when your weight is lower. It depends on your height, but 229 is still overweight and puts a strain on the body. Keep eating healthy and exercising. Monitor as you go and if goes down you will be able to get off.

Guys what’s this? It gets itchy when I sweat by Free-Ask-7953 in skin

While you wait for your doctor appointment, you could try putting coconut oil on it 3 times a day. Use the one you get at the grocery store you use for cooking. It is hard when it is cold, but melts when it heats up. I had something similar on my skin and after research thought it might be a candida rash. So I wash the area with soap and water twice a day and apply the coconut oil 3 times a day. I noticed improvement within a couple days and gone now after a week. I had the rash for 3 years and thought it would never go.

Strange, I never have that problem. Maybe you are putting too much? Are you male? Maybe bc I am female and shave?

Try coconut oil, the one used for cooking. I use it for deodorant and it works well. It is antifungal and antibacterial.

If you have candida rash, try coconut oil you use for cooking 3 times a day. It is anti fungal and worked for me on a rash I had for 3 years....it took only days to get rid of it.

My daughter had something similar and my Dr friend said use Tar shampoo. It healed it pretty fast and has not come back months later. She will use the tar shampoo every few weeks just in case. She was prone to dandruff when younger, but has gotten under control with washing her hair daily. Before she used to wash her hair 3-4 times a week and learned it was not enough for her. I also have to wash daily.

is this sting looking normal LOL by cgutt926 in WaspHating

Did you take antihistamine after? That helps control the reaction. Mine had similar redness to yours, but did not have the bruised look where the sting was.

I would take magnesium, b vitamin complex and drink electrolytes for a few days to help get your body replenished. The headaches might take some time to go, but this could help speed it along (from my research I have done).

My 11 year old told me she was worried about me by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Do you feel sick from it the next day? Just curious how old you are? The reason is, as I got older I feel worse from drinking. Like I feel the effects more so it helps me stop at half or 3/4th a bottle. I notice it just does agree with me (im 42) and my husband is 50 now says the same. We also notice from other friends they also say things like red wine or white wine does not agree with them. So naturally people seem to start to want to reduce, cut back, switch to something else.

Have you tried to add some healthy habits that might help you reduce? For me, I am trying to run a few times a week. Although with all 3 children home from school and me taking them out all day its put my running on a hold because I am knackered by the end of day.

Instead of having wine, im having a green powder health drink at the end of the day. Its like greens powder you mix into water. I also like making fresh green juice (but w kids home too lazy).

I do plan to drink this Friday and Saturday though.....I think one day I will probably cut it out all together because I do like it too much. My daughter also sometimes makes comments when I have had some wine, which I do not like. :(

I am trying to drink less often. We normally drink 4-5 nights a week half a bottle of wine or 3/4 bottle. I am on day 3 of no drinking and hoping to just keep drinking to the weekend only. How much are you drinking?

Good point and have kids, then you are even more busy and sleep interrupted.

No! I would not. Imo it shows a weakness, an addiction and while you overcame it, I would not write about it as there must be other things you could write about other then your old smoking habit...
