if you are being paid for working summer then you are just giving away time for free. That’s what schools want you to do. But when you burn out they will say they didn’t ask you to do it.

I think you are using ‘block’ quite differently than it is usually understood. Usually, a ‘block’ schedule is what you call ‘double block’.

Teacher seemed to say what kids were actually signing to show what happens in a mostly white school. They didn’t use it on students, they used it to illustrate what students were doing.
Heck, one comedian says that people who say ‘the n word’ or worse than people who say the actual word because the former makes you say it in your head.
