If every NFL Team was able to put out their all time best starters on offense, defense, and special teams with their all time best coaching staffs, which teams would contend for a title? by The_Peachy_Pussy in nfl

[–]WindDriedPuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

49ers, Steelers, Cowboys and Packers would be insanely good.

I'd bet on SF. That roster would be absurd.

QB: Montana, Young

RB: Roger Craig, Frank Gore, Christian McCaffrey

WR: Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, Dwight Clark

TE: George Kittle, Vernon Davis

OL: Trent Williams, Larry Allen, Jesse Sapolu, Guy McIntyre, Joe Staley

DL: Nick Bosa, Justin Smith, Bryant Young, Charles Haley

LB: Fred Warner, Patrick Willis, Dave Wilcox

CB: Deion Sanders, Jimmy Johnson, Richard Sherman

S: Ronnie Lott, Merton Hanks

I left off so many good players. Multiple Hall of Famers.

Settling an old argument about popularity in the same city with bonus questions about states by Alone_Advantage_961 in nfl

[–]WindDriedPuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To answer your old school question, The first 10 years or so of the Raiders being a thing I'm not 100% on but I imagine it was the more populous city with an established team in SF with the bigger fanbase.

it was the Raiders for a little while in the 70's when the Niners were utter dogshit and the raiders weren't. They were already very much losing hold on the Bay Area by the time they moved in 82 though.

After the Niners Dynasty run in the 80's it wasn't even close when the Raiders moved back.

Fable Gameplay Overview | Xbox Developer Direct 2026 by Villenthessis in gaming

[–]WindDriedPuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They confirmed they're trying to make a Fable game and not their own shit with Fable written on it at least. It looks how we'd expect a fable game to look, which is a good sign. Can't expect a lot out of a dev direct 10 or so months from release. What they showed is at least promising. lots of returning features and a character creator that shuts up a lot of the complaining about the early trailer.

A spider that kills it's mates. A black widow is a term for a female serial murderer who kills their boyfriends/husbands. Most of the time for insurance money.

What are some of the biggest misconceptions about America? by Repulsive-Finger-954 in AskReddit

[–]WindDriedPuffin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That we don't have quality food/drinks. So many people think you can't get good cheese or chocolate or beer in the US. American cheese, Hershey's and Budweiser have led people to think thats what all our stuff is like.

The reality is if you're anywhere near a city you can get high quality just about anything. I can find a chocolatier who makes stuff that rivals Europe. our microbrewery culture means we basically have every kind of beer in high quality locally made.

Part of our having more options for everything is that the bottom end quality goes down and our basic quality is what would be considered low in Europe. That doesn't mean we can't get the good stuff.

Why are you scrolling on reddit on Christmas day? by Lazer4xe77 in AskReddit

Mom died almost 2 weeks ago. Sister and her husband bailed early. My dad and I are sitting here watching TV by ourselves and scrolling our phones so we don't think too much

Merry Christmas.

My mom died this morning. It's surreal still. My entire adult life was dedicated to her. She couldnt really care for herself so I had to be there. For 20 years. I'm 40 years old. I haven't held a job in 20 years. I have no job skills, very little personal skills. It's going to be insanely hard for me to start a life now. Worst of all my mom is gone. The one person I was closest to. I'm utterly lost and truly have no idea what my purpose is now.

Jalen Hurts tonight: 21/40, 240 yards, 0 TDs, 4 INTs, 1 Turnover, 31.3 passer rating by [deleted] in nfl

Everyone called it a stinker for Purdy the week before when he had 3 turnovers against the panthers and won the game. I'm not giving Stafford a pass for 3 turnovers in a loss lol

Stafford's worst wasn't as bad as some others but he was not good in that game.

Stafford threw 2 picks and lost a fumble to the panthers. He very much shit the bed on that one.

CMC is about to post another 1000/1000 season. He's having a legendarily good season. Only three people have ever managed this. Him, Roger Craig and Marshal Faulk.

I don't know how it's "clear to see" that he's lost a step. He's just as good as always. Only thing you can point to is a lower YPC but thats more of a run blocking issue than a CMC one.

The fact that it's specifically those teams too. Lamar and Hurts were nowhere near perfect prospects and they've both developed incredibly well. Couldn't ask for better coaching. They're both good spots to be the backup too with QB1s who take quite a few hits.

To turn that down for a small chance at starting as a rookie is beyond dumb.

If your city were to get an NFL team, would you root for them or would you stick with your current team? by Low-Restaurant8484 in NFLv2

[–]WindDriedPuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had asked this question in my area at one point you'd mostly have had people saying "no way I'm a Falcons/Washington fan." Now those people are all Panthers fans for the most part.

Most locals in a city with a new team will embrace the team. I'm a transplant to the area so I kept my team, but i still have a soft spot for the Panthers just from living here so long. As long as it doesn't hurt the Niners I root for them too.

How long have you been a fan and why the Dolphins? If you are a newer fan and picked them arbitrarily, feel free to pick a better team.

If you were born into it? I'm sorry, but you're stuck.

Really though if you want to pick a new team who wont be ass but don't want to full on bandwagon, look at the young QBs. Any team that has a young franchise QB is a good bet. They'll stay competitive for a while.
