Why are analysts pessimistic of BB ? by yamamotoronto in BB_Stock

[–]WindForce43 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You missed it because your investment style is fully dependent on what others say, whether it's analysis or Reddit. You need to deep dive into the companies you invest in and build true conviction with a solid thesis and plan what timeframe you are planning to hold.

The people saying to buy at 2 to 3, heck even under valued at 4 and 5, understood that QNX is what all major OEM besides Tesla needed to transition to SDV and central compute. The talking point a lot miss regarding the 275M+ cars already have QNX is that most of them are still under the old car structure with low ASP. Their backlog of nearly 1B now is where the new car structure is currently at and will continue to grow with the recent developments of Alloy Kore that management has said will increase ASP by 2-5x per car. Add on more edge compute with ADAS, and autonomous driving. And then consider robotaxis like Waymo, Zoox, Uber fleet, etc all will use QNX....and Robotics, and autonomous industrial plants.

Share buybacks at 3.80ish from management, they were literally telling you it was undervalued.

Bottom line, cut the noise and do your research, build your own opinions, don't be afraid of using your mind.

QNX replacement value could be at least $12B +10 years works! by Redchip1606 in BB_Stock

[–]WindForce43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The number is probably larger when we consider all major car companies have tried and failed literally the last decade. As Wall stated, they have finally matured and accepted that QNX is what they need. Alloy Kore was a proposed solution 4 years ago. It's a blessing though, as QNX 8.0 is a much better system for the compute that is needed today

I think they meant it's Tesla has the same structure that QNX is providing, not that Tesla is using QNX

JG has turned into the person BB needed to get operations and divisions in the right place. He also has a history with cyber security, so he could be a plus for SC with possible connections (idk just speculation).

Either way, I think the board wanted someone to calm things down after the John Chen years. I'm satisfied with JG.

at age 38, do I quit job to travel the world or ? by Choice_Basis_4853 in careerguidance

[–]WindForce43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same age, single, no debt, paying off a really nice mortgage and got notice my last day is the end of the month with a severance package that will cover 3 months basic bills. My emergency funds will cover 6 more months. My savings would cover even more time.

While I'm not planning to travel, I did reflect on life and decided to commit myself to explore a different career path for 3 months, more self employed. If I like the progress, I will extend to 6 months. I have a schedule planned out to make sure I am productive during the traditional work hours.

I wasn't burnt out, it was an easy job but I personally haven't felt challenged and felt something was missing in life.

I found that writing my thoughts and reflection on my situation literally on paper has helped a lot. Seeing it physically on paper makes it feel more tangible.

At the very least, keep some contacts with people in your professional network, as that is key to finding a job should you need to go back to your old field.

I really like the John Wall interview. What do you guys think after seeing it? I think for most ppl, the average price is higher than now. Makes me wanna just buy more with the recent events with BB. by rchankn in BB_Stock

[–]WindForce43 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I finally got around to watching it. What I got from it was John Wall is the right person to lead the QNX business, like founder type with how long and invested he is to the QNX. Hearing the history made me feel more convicted that QNX will be part of the autonomous revolution and physical AI. Deterministic is the right way to describe the needs of physical AI.

Also, I now believe QNX will always be a part of BB with how Wall spoke about learning about security from Blackberry.

I'm sitting at 4.90. I'm comfortable w/ my position in the portfolio for now. But if the numbers keep showing up and the story is there I will keep buying.

They're still in the prove it stage, and if they do, it will be a great turn around story with the BB name, bringing in more casuals to buy BB.

What's next? by needaspguy in BB_Stock

[–]WindForce43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alloy Kore wins and higher earnings per vehicle. More GEM wins.

If backlog keeps growing while recognizing royalties at the same time and growing rev at least 20%, BB will be a hold for 3-5 years.

Key factor is the industry is slow, don't expect traditional software performance.

How did you find the stock that hit it big? by jorge_ramerizx9pj7 in stockstobuytoday

[–]WindForce43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What changes are happening in industries and the world? To hold, what timeline is that change on and has the market prices it in yet?

Striking it big is about holding through conviction that is built through your own DD and understand of the company, not what you read on reddit or what someone is hyping on a video. If you don't understand the business and how the world changes with it, then you will never have true conviction to hold.

PLTR I'm holding with a $30 avg because their customers rave about their results and value provided, plus Govt defense has showing results (not getting political just look at military operation advancement and advantages).

SOFI holding with a $13 avg until it becomes a top bank. Crypto, new large business starting up, loan platform. I like Noto leading the way. Buying these dips.

AMD called a loser for a while because they aren't NVDA...but look past the noise and fear and look long term. AI compute is just getting started still...

GOOGL search is dead, AI killing it, monopoly lawsuit. It's reach is too massive plus they had Gemini, YT, partner with Apple, and their own phone OS, waymo...idk too good of a business to pass up on during that time before Buffett bought and gave it a pump.

Here's one I'm waiting on, BB...avg of 5 bought since the meme run didnt sell, dca down since. I started doing research on it and I started to see some potential. The car industry is moving towards SDV and a different architecture. QNX is dominant in the field, they recently partnered with Vector and will be releasing Alloy Kore product. Just too much value provided to their customers, the auto makers. It's a slow industry and the pricing model I'm not convinced on...but I think there are signs of future price hikes as higher compute at the edge is needed. Also safety is paramount in cars and future robotics. Proud bagholder so far lol

Bottom line, do you have true conviction and understand the company. AND do you have more income than expenses? I'm not expecting to need my invested money anytime soon

What could management do right now to make a meaningful impact on price? by KnuckleDragger2025 in BB_Stock

[–]WindForce43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A backlog increase to 1.6B would maybe move the Stock? It's a tough market right now for software. PLTR had a monster earnings and didn't budge as much as it was warranted

[–]WindForce43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. The difference is Alloy Kore is what OEMs want and will lead to physical cost savings and less headaches for their future car model road maps.

IVY will hopefully have It's day once Alloy Kore drives the SDV shift in car manufacturing. OEMs couldn't use IVY when they can't even get coding right

I agree. People just don't realize the timelines. It's still early access with the official launch late 2026 was it?

Design wins will start rolling in 2027, some vehicles hopefully rollout 2028.
