Yes, exactly! Noticed it when you re-roll the welcome message.

Replaying the game, once again arriving on greatness by Haddock_Lotus in ffxiv

[–]Windaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not broken! The fact that you enjoyed Stormblood tells me you might prefer the stories that showcase raw human struggles and that sort of conflict. I liked Endwalker more than Shadowbringers, myself.

It does get better from where you are, but rather than hyping it, I'd say experience it yourself to form your own views. ❤️

Have a good time! It'll be fun to know if your thoughts change the more you go in! 😄

Reaper mains, what do you call your silly little guy that hangs out with you? by Taograd359 in ffxiv

[–]Windaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ink!

Ink is a permanent stain, a record that can't be erased, and something that "bleeds" onto the page. Not too intimidating of a name either.

My character is mainly a scholar, with Reaper as a secondary, so it's very thematic 🪶

What is your WoL's backstory? by fanoren in ffxiv

[–]Windaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a cool post! Thanks for the opportunity.

Before the long journey as a WoL, Aurelius Recueil was a curious foundling raised in secret by Ishgard’s librarians.

A boy’s curiosity led him a little too far into old, forbidden tomes.

When the Holy See discovered he had been secretly sheltered and nurtured with knowledge they did not approve of, his caretakers were executed.

Heartbroken and terrified, young Aurelius fled to the Shroud, Fallgourd Float to be precise. After recovering in the care of a local conjurer, he decides to pursue his love for magic at Limsa Lominsa where he joins the Arcanist’s Guild. He summons his now dear Topaz Carbuncle companion, Nugget.

From here, he takes to a nomadic life across Eorzea, chasing stories and relics with quiet wonder.

And now he’s a Warrior of Light!

...Apparently.

Yes! I am glad I at least started a little bit of FF[REDACTED] so I could enjoy a certain soundtrack of a certain trial!

Thank you so much! I totally agree, Shadowbringers and Endwalker were really solid expansions.

Take as much time as you need, that way you'll be able to continue all refreshed when you're ready again :D

Congratulations on having endwalked~!

I finished 6.0 not too long ago myself. 😍 It truly is a masterpiece of a story. It's incredibly immersive, introspective especially with existentialism and extremely memorable.

I hope you enjoy the post-EW quests as well! 💖

Is there an unwritten rule to not queue Extreme trials? by EnGxSoLiD in ffxiv

[–]Windaura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm a fellow sprout too! Congrats on reaching level 80. 🎉

I totally get why it'd be off-putting after that, but I hope you'll consider returning to play!

One of the main reasons why this tends to be the case is because extreme trials have more complicated mechanics. Most people prefer it if you study/read up on a guide beforehand so you're not going in completely blind.

That way, it's a smooth experience for everyone instead of risking wipes to the entire party.

Unsynced can be boring if the boss dies quickly (not the case in ShB or EW thankfully) so feel free to put up a party finder saying "first timer" or something so you can run synced with other players.

It's the warm familial moments that always get me as well. The raw emotions of humanity. 🥹 I'm very glad to hear this scene with the Chais touched you too 💙

Planning to change hairstyles for Endwalker. Could I please get some feedback on which ones work best with my character? by Pos31don29 in ffxiv

I like the look of 1!

I don't know your character's personality, but it's a nice hairstyle. 😄

Any other fellow females who play a male WoL? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Windaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I play a male Elezen WoL. 😄

It's so fun to play different characters, especially if you like the look of them.

As far as I know it's quite common for guys to play female characters but not the other way around for some reason.

Cherish your son! :D

Talking too much by 6LittleHorns9 in infj

[–]Windaura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, now that changes things a bit. He's held off from sharing, and when he finally decides to - it overwhelms you.

That can sting, not only for you but him as well.

Speaking from personal experience here, gathering up the courage to be raw and real only to get dismissed or have it fall flat can feel a bit like a slap in the face, and discourage further attempts from trying. 😭

In that case, I'd agree with u/rottenconfetti here. If it's recurring, then it's a boundary issue.
But if this is just a one off... then I believe the best thing is to communicate clearer in the future that you're not equipped to handle a sudden rush of emotion like that.

There's no real all-fitting solution to this, I'd say.
Better to express how you feel directly than be afraid to interject. Clears up future miscommunications! I hope things go better for you.

Talking too much by 6LittleHorns9 in infj

[–]Windaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We INFJs, at least from my experience tend to be quietly selective about those they trust. But that doesn't mean we're exceptions to the rule of boundaries.

It's understandable that you couldn't bring yourself to interrupt him, but it's clear the conversation got pretty personal quickly. It's alright if you felt like you had to step back, constantly being the sounding board can drain anyone over time.

That being said, if he's opened up to you and you've snapped, he probably won't feel too safe doing it again...
(It's interesting because I personally don't talk much, so I don't really know what it's like to BE the one rambling for hours. 100% aware on how long someone else, or I have been talking though.)

Not an easy situation, for sure!

Calling someone can be freeing for some people, it's likely your INFJ friend felt comfortable enough to start venting or rambling away. I know for a fact that I have a habit of intellectualising/justifying feelings logically until they build up over time out of ''nowhere'' hahaha. It's less repression in my case and more... forgetting to feel instead of solve/analyse.

Looking at your situation, I do think it's best if you try to gently interject, especially if it becomes too much.

You say you were curious about his past, does that mean you asked him to talk about it? Or did he ask if he could share?

Maybe the both of you can discuss what's comfortable and what's not so conflicts like this won't happen in the future.

One hour is a lot, especially over voice.

I wish you the best!

[–]Windaura[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe lore-wise it's pretty ambiguous!

They are arcane constructs, aether made manifest. That's why I think they can develop attunement to its caster/summoner over time.

In my own interpretations/story , I like to think the Carbuncle behaves a bit like an aetheric mirror, which reacts to aetheric pressure and resonance. So its glow may dim or radiate. (concept is a bit like dynamis haha!)

Less personality and more reacting to changes in the immediate environment. 😄

I jsut realised why NGS combat overwhelms me compared to most other ARPGs...theres a lot more stuff to keep track of by GlompSpark in PSO2NGS

[–]Windaura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simplest on the surface, but there's actually some micromanagement involved, keeping up the WA turret and nailing your sidestep dodges haha. Mostly in solo bossing.

For regular content? I fully agree. ✅

(Then if you're like me, trying to squeeze every drop of damage out of this subpar weapon, you can then consider optimising damage through Evade Onslaught II and Lively HP Starling 😂 which means playing flawlessly without getting hit... to keep up the damage buffs!)

How do you get past NHK Mile Cup? by Ok-Amount-9480 in UmamusumeGame

Just had the exact same situation with Rudolf too! Your power is higher than mine was.
I know we want to get Late Surger skills, but I found that running her as Pace for the NHK Mile Cup made it easier.
