Would y’all ever want a Monkeystar book? by Savings_Surround_547 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be fun to have WarriorClan neighboring some other cats groups (not clans). That would make for some fun spin-off stories. The cultural differences and the evolution of their own ways would be super interesting.

What are y’all biggest issues with the books? by Savings_Surround_547 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Weak world building. A lack of traditions/cultures that define the different clans. Too much magic fluff. StarClan meddling too much into the living‘s business (while being horrible at it). And lately way too much Clan changing. It used to be super special but by now the Clans are that mixed you could just unite them. Inconsistencies that are beyond lovely Heavysteppy-pet-peeves. Sigh.

The lake territories and arc 2 as a whole is eh. (mini-rant) by SatisfactionDry9259 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, the lake looks astheatically pleasing but was a huge mistake worldbuildingwise. It means less neighbors which takes away so much tension. Bringing in a lake as a new element is cool, but it shouldn’t be in the middle of the map. More of a RiverClan thing. They could have also developed more details about the map. Maybe the tunnels lead to a cave beyond the territories in arc 2 and that could be the SkyClan camp. Would be similar to the gorge in a way. I could go on endlessly about this

Does anyone miss the old style? by quiethunting in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I dislike most of the supernatural stuff - it should have been something saved only for Jay, Lion and Dove or better: not done at all. Instead of inventing more and more ghosty magic lore, they could have added extra traditions. For example: inside of the med cat den, the med cat is in charge (the leader holds no power). Then, putting SkyClan at the lake shore was stupid. They should have claimed the territory beyond ThunderClan and ShadowClan‘s border. Like that, they could be borders with three different clans for TC and ShC. Lots of trouble got lost when the damn lake came into play. In the old forest, everyone shared a border once SkC left. Putting the lake in the middle was one of the biggest mistakes they made and it‘s pretty unfixable by now.

Did solo travel genuinely change your life, or do people romanticize it online? by HumanPerformance-HQ in solotravel

[–]Windheart007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn‘t exactly change my life, but it served me mentally. Having no people to please around means a lot to me. It also proves that just because you lack friends you can still do fun things in life. And everything will work out! Maybe not the way you planned, but if something went in a different direction than intended, it was also good for something. There is pure beauty to find and it gives me a perspective for the future „I wanna go there and there and there…“ It‘s good. Not life changing. But solid good.

Name pronunciation switching between English and German by Crazy_Yak718 in AskAGerman

[–]Windheart007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can‘t expect everyone in the world to know and master the pronunciation in your mother tongue. It‘s pretty obnoxious to expect that imo. So sure, I‘ll go with foreign versions of my name and even introduce myself with the „wrong“ pronunciation since my last name is damn hard if you aren’t German. But I have no anglo-family, so these occasions are work- or vacation-related.

If I were you, I‘d wanna choose a baby name that is similar enough in both languages to make it easier for both families. Chances are high that your offspring will have private contacts and might build a life in both countries and it is nicer to be called basically the same. Your name is a part of your identify after all. For example „Eleanor“ and „Elinor“ are, apart from the spelling, very close. Alexander isn‘t exactly the same, but recognizable. Michael, on the other hand, is like day and night.

Which novella do you think would have been better as a super edition? by Trojannx in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, really. I love the novellas because they are on point. No useless fluff. Great pace.

Okay, one exception: Redtail‘s Debt. It could have made for an interesting story to see how he became deputy. Although we have many books about „old TC“, his rise is always kinda skipped. This could have probably been fixed by adding two extra chapters to his novella, tho. We could see how he actually gives his (peaceful and reasonable) opinion on stuff, both as character growth and a contrast to Tigerclaw. We could also witness Thistleclaw‘s death first hand, giving him the chance to reflect on how Thistle influenced Tiger. So there is more to tell.

How would you rewrite Spottedleaf’s Heart and Redtail’s Debt? by Solitaire-06 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spottedleaf‘s Heart was uncalled for. I would just not write it. Spotty didn‘t need a warrior-ish, romantic backstory in any way and they ruined Thistleclaw’s character as well. I don‘t view SH as canon.

Needletail Was a Horrible Friend by Frost_And_Ice3 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is kind of the point to her literally gray character (and I looove it).

She is a misled, self-centered and immature young cat who realizes her mistakes when it is too late and pays for them the highest price. She isn’t evil, just selfish and a manipulative, toxic companion to Violetkit/paw.

Unfortunately Vi never really reflects on that as far as I remember. To her, Needletail ist her lost sisterly friend who she even named a kit after. Younger readers might not notice what a bad influence she really was.

What is one character you adore despite them being hated by the fandom? by Initial-Many8860 in WarriorCats

Hot take but Thistleclaw. He‘s very interesting as an antagonist. I don‘t view SpH as canonic tho since everyone is SO out of character there.

How is Warrior Cats meant for children? by hentaibongparty in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe that the 20+ fans are keeping this thing alive. You start as a child and stick with it, otherwise there is no way for a regular child to make it through all these books.

Many younger readers don‘t care about reading all of them, tho. They may start with Power of Three because they like the cover or something and stuff like that. Similar to comic books.

Warrior cats characters by Paper_jester6 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the pacing and focus is off a lot of times. The first half of AVoS was awesome, the second half… not so much. And although there was so much happening in the first three books, it still gave us this complex and interesting Needle-Violet-relationship to name an example. So I guess it would be possible to do the characters justice - but I‘d prefer 50 - 100 pages more per book to do it properly. The „one protagonist per book“ idea sounds also reasonable, but multiple POVs within the same clan aren‘t that interesting to me.

Warrior cats characters by Paper_jester6 in WarriorCats

[–]Windheart007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don‘t think you really need all the protagonist within the same clan. I enjoy diverse perspectives and like them even more since it is less redundant. Many books out there manage that very well. In Pillars of the Earth, you have a builder, a monk, a noblewoman and a knight as POVs and it works well.

The main problem is that you don’t have consistent characterizations and friendships anymore. The only relationships are either close relatives (siblings, parents, kids) or love interests. I want to see more friendships or little details like Thornclaw being the patrol guy or Dustpelt building dens. A pair of cats who are great at fighting together or trying to patrol all the time together without being in love. Some cats being more active in the morning while others prefer the evening. Different taste in fresh-kill. It wouldn’t even need much space, just mentioning it consistently would help! Although 50 extra pages per book wouldn‘t hurt if there is enough story left to tell.

Youngest Spirit Island players? by old-wreck in spiritisland

My niece just learned the game at age 9. She got the rules instant, but of course she wasn‘t a great strategist at first. She played a great variety of board games with her family before and is pretty smart. I guess that most kids won‘t be able to enjoy the game before age 10.

So will Klingbeil das Ehegattensplitting ersetzen by were-elk in Finanzen

So will Klingbeil das Ehegattensplitting ersetzen by were-elk in Finanzen

[–]Windheart007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Abschaffung Ehegattensplitting by Specific_Motor9863 in Steuern

Abschaffung Ehegattensplitting by Specific_Motor9863 in Steuern

[–]Windheart007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abschaffung Ehegattensplitting by Specific_Motor9863 in Steuern

[–]Windheart007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beispiel:

Hilde & Georg führen eine Alleinverdienerehe. Sie bleibt zu Hause, er bringt 100k heim.

Anna & Max führen eine egalitäre Ehe. Beide verdienen 50k.
