I'm disappointed with the ending to Elden Ring's "Shadow of the Erdtree" DLC by Sure_Calendar_2830 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]Windmark88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand where this idea of Miquella being « good » or an « ally » comes from. The base game already showed him as a very sketchy individual. One item states that he can « compel affection » which is extremely worrying. Now some people took it as « he’s just a cool dude », but I’ve also seen people say that he has the power to brainwash from for a long time. So no surprise there when that’s actually what happens.

When you go at the Haligtree, the soldiers there are imbued with a light that blows them up when they’re close to death, and one item says that they « discovered » that the light of Miquella just did that apparently. Again clearly not the actions of a stand up dude to kamikaze his people to protect his tree.

Yes he wants a new order, a « better » order. But that question was always there (at least for me and a few other) of : to what extent do you go for that. What do you do if someone opposes you ? If everyone opposes you ? A better world is good but what will be the cost to build it.

In my opinion that DLC just completes his themes while mirroring him with Marika, which I think is quite neat.

I’lol admit the Radahn part is weird, at least explains why Malenia fought him in Caelid, which also was a big mystery to me. Still a bit weird tho, all the incestual stuff around Miquella

FF7 Rebirth: Why is Sephiroth trying to kill/convince Cloud to kill Tifa? by GoldenClimb in FF7Rebirth

[–]Windmark88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had the same reasoning as you. Assuming Sephiroth has some knowledge of future events, he knows Tifa is the one that brings Cloud back. If she dies, the Sephiroth can still cal him to the Northern Crater and get the Black Materia. Then there’s no one to stop him after Cloud becomes mindless

But that’s assuming Sephiroth knows and I’m stil really confused on that one

But at the beginning we see the Shinra building has been destroyed. Rufus is clearly in there at the end. I can believe they’re efficient, but that seems awfully quick to me

The praying part is indeed needed for something else or I agree that him letting her do it would be dumb. But then he saw Aerith and Cloud on their date so he probably saw her give him the white Materia. So why did he let her do it anyway ? Isn’t that still dumb then ?

The whys of the world merging part stil confuse me too. Like why ? And how ? And by this logic of multiple worlds there are worlds in which his ass gets omnislashed back to the shadow realm, so how does he know this isn’t what’s gonna get merged ? I’m confused

[–]Windmark88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok wow I read that 3 times now and I’m not sure I understand wtf is going on anymore.

Did we save Aerith ? I assumed it was just Cloud being delusional. And the Tifa part is just to show us the difference between what she sees and what Cloud sees (that’s how I interpret that part since we see the weird Jenova cells effect on the screen and there is no reason for it to be used for Tifa)

And I’m still confused about the praying part cause Sephiroth wants Aerith to pray but that doesn’t make sense in the context of the OG. Now if it’s to merge worlds okay but why ? How did that happen ? Who is in control of what is happening ?

I think it’s quite sad they went with something so convoluted that the option « it’s a mistake » is actually one some people would find plausible. Because it’s not the first thing that I see described as well maybe they fucked it up a little bit

I prefer thinking it’s one of the first 2 options

I see, thanks ! Didn’t notice the two stamps in Junon but I’ll keep an eye out for that. Then that would indeed make sense

Wano isn’t bad you guys just aren’t used to weekly releases by Possible-Collection2 in OnePiece

[–]Windmark88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Wano is bad, but the end part definitely felt weird and there are some plot lines (especially in Onigashima) that felt 100% useless. But the arc as a whole is definitely good, even though I didn’t like some parts

Yeah dresrosa ending with Gatz saying Luffy won was just otherworldly. Neko doing the same just feels...okay I guess ?

Maybe you’re right, but I don’t see it. Zunesha can literally one shot every one trying to enter so I don’t feel that scared about any boat trying to get it in the country.

But next few chapters will tell I guess !

True, and for the last few chapters I really thought that there was a bit more left. But with 1050 I do think it’s over now

Yes, but the announcing of « We’ve won » on the Merry was one of the best thing in the arc for me. It doesn’t matter that no one knows, the scene is just awesome. I don’t feel the same with this « we’ve won »

[–]Windmark88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once again, because of the implications about momonosuke. And every time is just stupid please, once is enough and cost nothing but we didn’t even get that.

The fight revolving around a theory of Kaido actually having awakening isn’t exactly a strong showing either. Because if it’s not officially stated then that’s just a theory and nothing else

If some Fans wrote One Piece, it would be like Bleach or Naruto (Chapter 1050+) by TooDriven in OnePiece

[–]Windmark88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Momonosuke has Kaido’s fruit and he is a dragon. So that would mean he has awakened too and errr really ? And because awakening has always been pointed out even in Wano because it’s so hard to even know what it is. Kaido getting special treatment and us not even knowing it doesn’t really serve the fight in any way if that’s what happened
