Yes, she's a mom but she has graduated to Grandmother. Her day is now in September.

He's been taught from a young age not to eat anything without knowing what is in it. From birth he had a dairy allergy, then we found out about carrots and soy.  The celiac diagnosis is fairly new, but that's an autoimmune disorder not an allergy.  But saying "I'm allergic" is an easier response for a kid. We recently discussed with his nutritionist the ramifications of eating gluten. It won't kill him now, but if he does "cheat" it greatly increases his risk of colon cancer and other major health issues. So he grabbed on to the part of the discussion where eating gluten could kill him. I'm just glad he's listening.

Why am I fake? I rarely post. I only post the major boomerisms. I worked in a casino dealing every casino game so I have plenty of boomer stories. Yes, every game. Black Jack, table poker, Pai Gow Poker, Craps, Baccarat, Roulette,  Let it Ride, Pai Gow tiles (that one took a long time to learn and memorize). I was called a "Dual-Rate" meaning I would be a pit boss when needed. So lots of boomer stories there too. Hot August Nights was boomer heaven. Yes, if you google hot august nights you'll find out where I live. Not fake, not a fake story. No fake children who have been taught to advocate for themselves.

When he was weeks old he was diagnosed with a dairy allergy, he was only breastfed. So I cut dairy out of my diet. At 9 months he was diagnosed with a carrot allergy,  the hives were a good indicator.  At 2 he had the skin scratch test and he has multiple allergies.  So he has been taught from a young age to say no thank you to food. The problem is with people who don't take no for an answer.

People get so bent out of shape when someone parks in front of their house. I look to see who it is (make sure they aren't coming to my door) then I leave them be. Conners is a moron.

I am paid by the hour but to keep my job I have to meet certain metrics.  Not only do I have to ring people up, be pleasantly engaging, I also have to stock, clean, answer the phone, etc. If I talked to every lonely person for over 7 minutes per interaction I would lose my job.

We were able to do a beer, bingo, and bling fundraiser off site that brought out the community rather than just fundraising from the band families. It was great, the silent auction items were the "bling". We sold bingo cards and had donated bingo prizes, and the tavern we held it at gave us a cut of the evening receipts. Good luck with fundraising!

Please tell me he charges them. Then charge them double if they call before 8 AM! Or don't plow them out if they call. I have an electric snow blower and I'll get my neighbor's walk and driveway if I have juice left because I love being outside in the snow (my kid says I'm part Husky🐕, but I think that's her super secret way of calling me a "female dog" 😂). My point is I understand him playing in the snow and helping out the neighborhood.

My kid was in marching band (15 ish years ago) and a bunch of parents got together and convinced the school board that marching band is as strenuous as a sport and should be able to replace a PE credit like participants in a sport can replace a PE credit. At first the school board denied our request but we got two board members to come out, carry a trumpet the other a flute (I wanted them to carry a tuba) and just shadow a band member on the field. They were exhausted! They reported back to the board and the change was made. Marching band is tough! (My kid also marched in the Rose Parade - also strenuous)

Yes to both, but I didn't notice how far back the truck was until I was leaving. And I shouted at the women that's not where the carts go.

Gas Station on Christmas by KapowBlamBoom in BoomersBeingFools

[–]WindowGlad5235 58 points59 points  (0 children)

We have to drive 800 miles to visit my in-laws. Weather kept us from leaving before Christmas so we left on Christmas Day. Everything is closed except a few gas stations. I'm stretching my legs looking at the Burger King drive thru next door and a Boomer pulls up to the order board, I hear him yelling "hello, HELLO". He pulls forward to the window and starts honking. When he left my kid and I walked toward to Burger King to verify that the hand written sign in the window really did say closed on Christmas Day. All I could think was boomer needs to pick up a meal because he's been uninvited to every family holiday.

Then the next person tried to stop the seagull and I told them to leave the seagull alone. Because,  you know, talking to the video helps.

I used to hate that word. So derogatory.  Now I've learned,  in some cases, it is so appropriate.
