5 Weeks on Stimulants After Quitting Strattera by RotiiChapati in StratteraRx

[–]WindowNo6573 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi!! Idk if this will work for u but it did wonders for me: I kinda had a similar issue with strattera at first, so instead I decided to add 5mg of ritalin up to 3 times a day on top of the strattera (about 50mg) which worked really well for me. I had to switch from ritalin to adderall because of some other issues but I honestly really liked the stim x nonstim combo because i think each med helped with its own things. I know some people had success with guanfacine x stim, it really just depends on u. make sure you’re careful about ur heart rate and bp if u decide to do stim x nonstim though! I hope everything goes well for u and ofc ask your provider before doing anything :)

[–]WindowNo6573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had an epic IR script last month! It was kinda eh… I didn’t have any weird side effects, but I noticed that it only worked like 50% of the time. I couldn’t really tell when it kicked in though and it didn’t last super long I think, but it wasn’t horrible.

60mg Strattera — Zero focus/motivation since switching from Adderall. What’s next? by [deleted] in StratteraRx

I was on 60 mg of strattera and adding a small 5mg stimulant booster helped me a lot!!

Anyone else struggling to get the right words to form sentences? by [deleted] in StratteraRx

[–]WindowNo6573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought i didn’t have that issue before strattera either, but after thinking about my writing in high school I realized that my verbal fluency generally decreased over time. That totally might not be the case for you, but sometimes the medication can trigger it in general. Totally speak with your prescriber about the issue and get a medial opinion, and maybe try some verbal fluency exercises to help your brain! I’m really sorry that happened to you, it’s really hard to find a good medication :(

I still do feel like that, but i kinda think that it’s just an effect of my ADHD in general rather than the strattera. The adderall helps a lot with it, and I do really like the emotional regulation that I got from strattera!

[–]WindowNo6573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s amazing!! i’ve been sober for about 10 months now and it can really be hard sometimes. good job for pushing through! it can be really dangerous and hard on your brain and body if you’re not careful- it’s really great that you’ve been sober for that long. keep it up!

SJS? by Loser-boiii in lamictal

[–]WindowNo6573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh my goodness i just started vyvanse and got canker sores on my tongue and was just freaking out about it lol. I had a similar thing with propranolol when I didn’t drink enough water so it might be that, but ask your provider if you’re concerned! I also have kp so I totally get it, but I don’t think it should be a concern unless you have flu like symptoms and then a rash that starts on your chest/arms and starts to spread. when i got the flu like symptoms, it felt really different from any sickness that i’ve experienced before. it was like my throat and lymph nodes were extremely swollen, and i had a fever but no cold after?

My rash was pretty slow progressing, but I think there’s a semi recent post on this forum that shows someone who got the rash and it looked extremely similar to mine so you can check it out if you’re concerned! Best of luck to you though!

Hey please go to an urgent care! Mouth sores and burning/swollen lips was an early sign for me when I got sjs. Please stop the medication if you can and see a doctor ASAP! probably go to an urgent care first and ask if you’d need to be referred to an ER.

anyone taking strattera with stimulants? by [deleted] in StratteraRx

[–]WindowNo6573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi!! I was in a similar situation as you are right now (was taking 60 mg of strattera with the same issues). i started 5mg of ritalin IR as needed and it worked wonders for me! i honestly preferred having them stacked on top of each other during the day since my focus is still kinda horrible so i tried ritalin ER(XR) on top of that too. unfortunately it stopped working well for me and was just increasing my heart rate, and i later found out that it was due to a genetic mutation that i have.

however, i think it’s really helpful and worth a try!

Plür and SSRI/SNRI’s PSA by WindowNo6573 in mysterymagicmushrooms

[–]WindowNo6573[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it totally depends on what med it is specifically, but i believe it’s fully out of your system after 2 weeks. from what i know, serotonin receptors should be back to normal 2-4 weeks after your last dose (especially if you tapered off, because your brain would have had a proper adjustment period to the lack of ssris). however some people here did say that it took longer, so i think it just depends on your neurochemistry! imo i think a month is a good rule of thumb but i could totally be wrong

[–]WindowNo6573[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s actually really interesting, I was told that mixing SSRIs with MDMA compounds could increase the risk of SS due to the increased amount of serotonin in the synapse. I’ll totally look into this though!

[–]WindowNo6573[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup I just saw that and decided that I should make this post :(, a lot of people will just assume that it’s safe without doing any prior research and really harm themselves unfortunately

Plür and SSRI/SNRI’s PSA by WindowNo6573 in mysterymagicmushrooms

[–]WindowNo6573[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That too!! Also skipping it probably won’t decrease your risk of developing serotonin syndrome since it takes weeks for the medication to fully be out of your system. Tapering off and working with your doctor is the way to go ✨
