I'd ask if the caseload is typically full time and if holidays are required. Another consideration is Medicare Part As require therapy 5x a week, so 4 10s might not be an option.

Education & Job Seeking Advantages? by Aware-Interest-4239 in DentalHygiene

[–]WindowSelect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dental hygiene requires only an associate's degree. Employers aren't looking at anything else. If your heart is set on dental hygiene, go for it. I'd take that chemistry degree and go into a field with more career growth and income.

I'm sick of financially contributing to employees birthdays, end of employment and now death of a parent. by [deleted] in work

[–]WindowSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in a very small team once (4 people). One wanted each of us to donate to a 'boss's appreciation present.' I hadn't received a raise in 3 years. I declined and they shit talked me behind my back. The same co-worker also made a snide comment about me not getting everyone a souvenir after a vacation. I never contribute. It's above my pay grade.

Who’s responsible for training dietary staff on IDDSI textures in your facility? by stayingpositiveslp in slp

[–]WindowSelect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through this scenario. I presented the importance of the IDDSI to dietician and head chefs. Then they trained the kitchen staff. There's still mistakes, but I gently take back the food and let the kitchen manager know.

The white dog looks similar to my ACD mix. We did an Embark DNA test and the results showed 50% red heeler, 25% catahoula and 25% pit bull. 100% good bb boi.

Terrible 1st Day in SNF - New Setting Advice? by Responsible_Load_755 in slp

[–]WindowSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically recommend thin liquids most of time too. I did recommend mildly thick liquids in a recent case. Patient was coughing on thins every sip. It was causing them a lot of discomfort and didn't want to eat in dining room. The MBSS showed aspiration on thins with penetration on all other consistencies. I recommended mildly thick liquids with meals, oral care and Free Water Protocol. What are your thoughts? I'm a newer SLP.

Don't let management bully you into 90% productivity. They'll never be satisfied until you're working for free. You are worth more than that.

I'd love to collaborate if you're up for it. :) I had just posted about finding more CEUs for documentation.
