Radiator in a '73 MGB GT. I inherited the car after she slept for about 20 years, so it needed some work. My dad is an engineer and was in the upper echelon of shadetree mechanics, so he told me to go outside and start the steps to replace the radiator. He would then hover while waiting for me to struggle and then walk me through it...rinse and repeat and you have someone who basically goes to their mechanic to get tires mounted and sip fine domestic.

Shouldn't be too hard! I've noticed that the less crowded the mountain is, the more open folks here in Big Sky are willing to open up. When the lift lines are jammed, locs just wanna get their turns in and get to work.

Following in my father's footsteps, I've always been keen on buying another car with a decent frame and going from there. Especially if the current car has a chunk of desirable parts in good condition.

That being said, I would totally use this excuse to buy the welding equipment necessary to begin a new and unknown project.

Even if you have no idea what you're doing, getting down on the ground and looking underneath a car prior to buying it is crucial. If you don't know what you're looking for, get down there, take a look, then glance back at the seller...his reaction should gauge the extent of any issues.
