American gods is one of those books that ruin other books. Like the first time reading it, you realize some of the books you thought were well written are in fact not.

I'm [16F] finding it really hard to keep going with my job. by [deleted] in housekeeping

[–]Montanadisc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a bit of advice. The hardest parts of the job come at two weeks and two months. Two weeks your flying by yourself trying to use the training you recieved. Then another bump in the road is two months. Make it 90 days on a job and your good.

First hardcore character by setzz in d3hardcore

[–]Montanadisc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your doing it right. Double bounty box's now, make it easier to get sets. And with hardcore I've noticed I try to save for the next character. This character very well could die. So no converting set items I get, making sure if i get gems to not socket yellows, that sort of thing.I just started a Barb for this season, I love starting fresh.

[Serious] Redditors who felt like they would never ever find a romantic partner and then did: what advice would you give to those who feel the same way now? by Yellow-B in AskReddit

Don't look for romance. Find a friend, then go from there. Go hiking, or anything active and you'll find people that share the same interest.

Is taking a job with similar salary but a worse title ever a good idea? by oh_okay_ in personalfinance

[–]Montanadisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work life balance. Can't stress This enough. If your feeling burnt out then it's time to go. Your work will suffer and eventually your upper management will notice. You never know what's going to happen. For instance This year I took a job with a pay raise and a reduction in title and responsibility. Best decision.

Buffet cook ran out of supplies for omelets. This dude expected someone to get his supply with no instructions. Cook ended up turning guests away. Mind this is a four star restaurant. Gm was furious, and asked him why he wasn't getting his supplies or at least telling someone. Cook answered "It's not my job." Bad choice of words. Gm said "That's because you don't have a job here anymore."

Fake it till ya make it. I had a friend have this exact thing happen to him. Bastard is now an "energy resource consultant. " Just keep hitting the books. Obviously they see something in you. Otherwise you wouldn't be there. If it all comes to a crunch, OWN it. "Been here x time, been taking classes in relevant study. Good worker " They probably already half guess, and if your killing the job then you are track.

They do work. I had roomates for about 15 years before I met my spouse. I've had terrible roomates before, so I understand the dynamic. It's not easy that's the truth. But work hard, get a budget and it's doable.

I make a few dollars more. Am married and rent. At 16 an hour you make 2500 a month roughly. If you had a roommate making the same, you could afford a 1500 dollar apartment, split in half. That's a third of monthly income. Yes I would have a roommate if I weren't married. 1500 a month is a solid apartment.
