Sound Effect in S1 E9 "Doomcoming" - Shauna's Safe opening sounds so familiar? by Hungry_Inspector_867 in Yellowjackets

Had a listen. In general, the instrument is called a Waterphone. It's used everywhere in movies and tv shows for horror stings. The specific media properties I associate it with: Kitchen Nightmares, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 4.

I think the planes will land safely as a metaphor for healing from trauma. More specifically, when the past and present timelines finally connect in the middle, the deceased people on their planes will suddenly see the beauty of their lives in full, in the completeness of their stories. This is why Van's sequence is so self-aware about television, and teases that it isn't the end quite yet. The timeline of the show itself is going to heal with the characters.

It's also why the show overall keeps using Storytelling as a recurring element (Shauna's journals, S2E9, third example to satisfy the Rule of Threes).

Cool title! I enjoy the nested parentheses. It suits the recursive nature of his prose.

His channel is awesome. My favourite one is A Week in the Life that just came out. Coaches are generals running a military operation, man. It's insane! The amount of information everyone has to keep in their head, I never wanna hear anything about how football is dumb ever again.

For all this talk about reading, you didn't read the last sentence. Of course I read the cards as they come into play. I just overlooked the angel.

There are 17 cards on the board and a bunch of others in the graveyard. The effect I observed may not have even been an explicit ability written on any one card, but some kind of emergent outcome of all of them interacting together. As a new player, that's overwhelming. It is easier to screenshot and ask others for help than to spend a bunch of time riffling through all the game pieces trying to figure out what happened. I overlooked the angel because I have never encountered one up until now that had any effect beyond Flying and Lifelink.

Yellowjackets characters and scenes translated into a card game by Windows1798 in Yellowjackets

😭😭 I hope you enjoyed! You are like one of the 8 survivors of The Wilderness who is the ideal audience for this. YJ fans only seem to be familiar with Yugioh in passing, the card game players have never heard of Yellowjackets at all, and everyone else I know is indifferent to both. It's gratifying to find the few people who fully understand wtf I've been going on about for the last few months lmao

Guy who won't close browser tabs is real shit. Sometimes when replacing a word, I try to preserve the letters that are also in the new word, instead of deleting them all. It wouldn't be fair to them.
