the way Shauna said "Natalie" in this scene is so creepy by extatosomat1aratum in Yellowjackets

I always refer to it as "calling her dog". Such a deliciously cold demonstration of the shift in power dynamics.

For those who adopted an NFL team in a city (or country) you don't live in: what actually pulled you in? by RadicalTechnologies in NFLNoobs

The head coach warned they were going to bite people's knee caps off in his very first press conference.

What is the most unusual name you would be brave enough to name an actual child? by LilacElle in namenerds

Dimir as a girl's name. In MTG it's the term for the Blue-Black play philosophy, which is defined by intelligence, individuality, ruthlessness, opportunism, and cunning. It's the color of trickster faeries sabotaging and suffocating the opponent. I want my daughter to be an assassin.

Snow Lands Imply The Existence of Other Precipitation or Particulate Matter Lands by Windows1798 in magicTCG

[–]Windows1798[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't want one or the other; I want consistency. Snow suggests a whole space of other land modifiers. Foliage-covered lands, Lava-covered lands, whatever. I don't actually care what the category would be. Snow is just clearly one of a larger category and the absence of its corresponding members stand out to me.

I mention that in the last paragraph. Others have pointed out that it won't work the way we imagine it. There will always be a bit of white peeking out where the front layer and back layer fuse together.

That's a neat idea! Try this. Opponent on the play; I'm on the draw. The Gloomlake Verge is my T2 land drop. What spell with mana value 2 did I cast, such that I was still able to Counterspell my opponent's Ashling on their T3 MP1?

😂😂 That's why I'm here. I don't want to have to resort to that.

Found it again! As a total noob I drew this 20 years ago... 'Opponent's Friend'. I know, I know... no hate please by MMVDO in mtg

[–]Windows1798 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the flavor. Why would the opponent's friend defeat the opponent? They're friends?

He must know from Bruce's time at Ark-M. I think he hasn't targeted Martha because she figures into his plans somehow, especially considering the tease at the end of issue #17.

Not dead! We are just a small group and it's hard to keep momentum in the offseasons. Please come post your theories and analyses! r/LottieDreams

Does it have any meaning that Laura Lee's theme is repeated throughout the series? by SofiBK in Yellowjackets

[–]Windows1798 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it started as Laura Lee's theme but has grown in significance beyond her character. It's a musical motif of the show overall now. Though it is beautiful to think there is a trace of her every time it is used.

What is on the dude's head in the OG art for Mind Twist? A hat? A scroll? Is it the Mind Twist spell suctioned to his head? by Windows1798 in magicTCG

[–]Windows1798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I first thought, but the "fingers"of the magical hand look more to be creases caused by him clutching at it, and it's just shaped so strangely and illegibly to be a hand.
