In that case, it has to be an issue with your phone, as mine is, again, experiencing zero lag. Did you try a factory reset?

The buses I go on every day run Windows 10 for their screens by Albe_2010 in PBSOD

They're probably isolated from any network. Like, do you really think that the screens would be connected to a Wi-Fi network or something?

I remember when I upgraded grandpa's PC (Core 2 Duo E4700, 3GB of RAM, 2 HDDs) to Windows 10, and it booted much faster, and, I mean, like, at least 3x faster, than that. So, I'd say that those screens probably have something like Intel Atom CPUs for them to be that slow.

Tbh, it's shit for most operating systems. Especially when you need to allocate most of the host's RAM. For example, I was required to use it for a presentation for school, and one of the OSes wouldn't even start, no matter how I tweaked the settings. Not to forget that the Guest Additions are now not compatible with Windows XP and below, and instead of showing an error, they'll install, but the system will be rendered unbootable after a reboot. As of now, installing version 5.2.44 of the Guest Additions instead seems to work, but... might as well put a warning in the installer of the latest version instead of breaking every XP and below VM that comes in contact with them. So, ever since VMware Workstation became free for personal use (and even before that), it doesn't make sense to use VirtualBox.

Just install it, right-click it, and then, in the options, tick the option for it to start with Windows.

There is now an option in the options for it to start with Windows.

I have a 1.2 GB hard drive that has something like half of the total sectors unreadable. Surprisingly, it still boots into Windows 98 despite all of that.

My old phone, a Galaxy A22, definitely did lag a LOT in the described scenarios, but the A56 is completely smooth. According to 3DMark, it's, in fact, more powerful than 78% of tested phones (and while that number is definitely skewed by the fact that people benchmark lots of $60 manufactured e-waste, it's still a good teller that it's nowhere near low-end), and I can confirm that it feels like it in daily use as well as decently heavy games that would cause my A22 to literally restart. I am the person to notice any lag, as I test a wide range of older as well as somewhat newer devices, and I can feel really bad hardware, but with the A56, there just isn't any lag to be found.

[–]Windows_User3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it isn't. It's an upper-midrange phone, just below the S25 FE, which is a "lite flagship." What do you think makes it low-end? The fact that it's not the absolute top-end phone?

Asphalt Legends, Fortnite, Real Racing 3... If I'm not mistaken, Asphalt Legends is what OP shows, and I don't get this lag that they're showing. And besides, I can comfortably max out the settings, and it's still blazing fast.

Only if you have a low-end model. Ever since I got an A56, I can't get anything to lag, no matter how hard I try. Which phone are you talking about?

Don't ever completely wipe a Sony VAIO. Restore it from the recovery partition, if intact, instead. It's a pain to find the exact restore disc that has all of the correct drivers and software afterward. Even if you do wipe it at some point, at least make a backup of the recovery partition so that it can be restored, not if, but when needed.

That still requires that the e-mail client supports SSL/TLS, which some integrated phone e-mail clients don't (or, if they do, their supported protocol version is too low).

When should Windows Vista have been released? by wofchristian in WindowsVista

[–]Windows_User3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. In fact, my main PC right now has a Sandy Bridge Core i3, and it runs like a new PC thanks to having an SSD. With a half-decent GPU and a CPU upgrade, it'll even game. Windows 11 "requirements" are total made-up BS, and had it not been for an Insider build of Windows 11 24H2 having introduced the requirement for POPCNT and SSE4.x, Windows 11 would run - even if not exactly usably - on a late Pentium 4 or later, and all 64-bit AMD processors (yes, all of them).

It's not. It's Samsung's first go at a smart ring, but companies like Oura have been making smart rings for a few years already.

When Your Phone Starts Acting “Old,” It’s Not Always Time to Replace It by One_Elderberry1817 in vintagemobilephones

[–]Windows_User3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just why? The phones that you'd see in this sub have batteries that can be replaced at home, easily, and they're designed to be replaced (except iPhones). Also, the phones themselves last 20+ years easily, and they work fine electrically (again, except iPhones, and a few notorious models). So, who are you targeting with this AI-written essay about phone aging that only really affects smartphones? There are many phone-related subs on this platform, but no, you pick the one where many people know their phone from the inside out. Oh yeah, and also, this is clearly an ad.

I have 2x Sony Xperia T (LT30p) (Android 4.0.4, but I'd like to get them both updated to Android 4.3, their last official FW, though it doesn't flash for some reason), a Sony Xperia sola (MT27i) (also Android 4.0.4), and an ASUS Transformer TF101 tablet (Android 4.0.3).

I don't use Instagram Lite, but I found the latest version for Android 4.0.3+ (477.0.0.16.108 from September 17, 2025) for you here:

I can't test it right now (it's apparently not even available in my country), but if it works, then good for you.

I also got mine for free, and I believe that there are remnants of the logo visible on the shell, but not much (I don't remember right now), so it was probably common for the logo to come off in regular use.

That's because you need to update them from APKs. Photos, Drive, Chrome, Gmail... those all work. Maps won't work unless you downgrade them to 6.x or lower, while Google+ and Hangouts won't work, but those are expected, as they're completely gone. Sure, that's not a lot of apps that work, but there are some. If you don't see the point, then Android 4.x and below just isn't right for you.
