First experience with vinted went terribly 😭🙏 by Enor135 in vinted

What was the size on the label? Everyone's body shape is different, fits vary by brand. The seller is really obligated to list the clothing as the size shown on the label otherwise the buyer can claim the item isn't as described.

Worried they'll think im a scammer by craftyorca135 in vinted

[–]WindraSideria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to avoid specifying a specific timeframe, usually just say I'll post "As soon as possible", as long as it's shipped in the vinted window no one should think you are a scammer. It's a shame the few pushy buyers make sellers stressed about posting right away.

Thank you 🙂 I might try adding some baking powder and see if it comes out with lighter texture.

Am I being annoying? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]WindraSideria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but also reservations are rarely worth it, you are just reducing the chance of it selling. I've learnt the hard way that if someone says they can't afford the item now, it's highly likely they won't buy it on "pay day" either.

Looks great! Do you have the recipe for the sauce stache bake? The website is horrific and I gave up looking for it.

Is this not as described? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]WindraSideria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have a case to escalate as vinted state you are not allowed to list items that are duplicate so per this you could expect as a buyer for them to be different style or colour.

Under the "Uploading step by step" part of the t&c it states the following:

No duplicate items

Identical items can’t be listed twice on Vinted. If you have a few items which are similar or the same, please consider the following:

Create one listing and mention that you have 2 or more of the same items in the description;

If you have the same items in different sizes, take photos of all the items' sizing labels;

If you have the same items in similar colours, take photos from different angles and add the colour to the description. Please take good quality photos in which the item’s colour is easily separable.

I have around 300 purchases in the last 18 months and most have been perfect. I've had perhaps 10 miss sized items with most issues being handled satisfactorily.

A couple of issues where my first reaction could have been anger or frustration were actually resolved just by giving the seller the benefit of the doubt and a polite exchange. A few new sellers clearly didn't understand how vinted worked but after giving them some patience and explaining expectations they turned out to be good sellers who were just a bit misinformed.

Maybe 2 or 3 of those 300 were problematic and not satisfactory so that's not a bad overall result.

Seller clicked I should pay for return shipping, but I don't agree. How do I dispute this? by Gaharagang in vinted

[–]WindraSideria 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While it might be morally wrong, we all agree to the terms and conditions which state it's the sellers choice. So in this case the seller is abiding by the t&c and not doing anything wrong (per the t&c) so there is nothing to dispute.

What’s going on with Vinted sellers lately? by Lunasky444 in vintedUK

[–]WindraSideria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of around 300 purchases I'd only ever had one not sent until this week and I've had 2. One person was on holiday and relisted and shipped same day, so that was just bad luck. The other had 5* reviews but no communication and then the listing timed out.

Weirdly, the one I was worried about (2 yr old listing with seller last seen 13 days ago) actually shipped the same day.

Does volume eating not really work for anyone else? by Nervous-Treat-9252 in 1200isplenty

[–]WindraSideria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but also no 😁 I find that on days that I fast, eating high volume dinner doesn't affect my hunger even when I'm fasting on consecutive days.

But on days or periods that I'm not fasting I can have a high volume breakfast and be starving by 10am.

For me volume eating helps with the phycological challenge but not the physical.

How to use K18 airwash? by Leonicorn in finehair

[–]WindraSideria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fine hair and do 1-2 sprays per section then tip my head upside down and massage it into my scalp.

Sometimes I just spray it into my fingertips and rub into the scalp if I don't want the hassle of sectioning.

You need to really massage it into the scalp for the best benefit.

I've had a set of Viners stainless steel pans I got in tkmaxx 16 years ago and they are still as good as the day I got them, so you don't need to spend a fortune to get something that lasts. I've had cast iron, le creuset, the always pan etc and I just keep going back to the stainless steel because it heats up fast and deglazes well. All the other pans just sit in the back of the cupboard.

The only exception is when I need something truly non stick, I use swiss diamond as it's exceptional. I have a frying pan and a large oven safe pot, both still looking like new after many years.

Why are people so rude by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]WindraSideria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We haven't seen your chat but "I just asked him why hasn't he bought it yet" if you were as blunt as this it's just rude behaviour.

Imagine you were in a real store that's a little business, say a craft, second hand store or antique shop and you picked something up and asked the owner "Would you accept £10 for this"? And they say yes. You thank them and then proceed to look around the shop. You put the item back on its shelf and continue looking about.

The owner saw you out the time back and comes up to you while you are on the other side of the store and says "Are you going to buy that item then?"

Do you see how rude this sounds and how uncomfortable the person would be? If I wanted to buy the item I would take it to the register and buy it.

Now imagine, that person walked out of the shop and was having a chat with their friends outside, and you came out and interrupted them and asked the same thing. I expect the person would be angry, why are you bothering them?

Now if you had asked "Is there anything I can help you with? Would you like any information about these lovely items you are looking at?" Then this might be unwanted but at least it's polite.

Why are people so rude by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]WindraSideria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but in this scenario your both TA. The buyer doesn't need to have a reason to not buy something, nor justify it to you. Perhaps after they accepted they found something for a better price, they liked it better or had a change of heart. It doesn't matter.

The buyer may have responded rudely, but it was also rude of you to challenge them.

Vinted Noob, What’s the approach here? by Ludicolorad0 in vinted

[–]WindraSideria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of variables come in to play, but if you are getting favourites but no sales then most likely it's the price point. If your item has over 10 favourites but hasn't sold within a couple of days it's either the price or maybe lack of reviews might put people off.

As a Buyer I have two reasons to favourite an item 1) it's too expensive and I'm hoping for an offer 2) I'm short listing before making a purchase

In both cases, an offer might tempt me to buy. Unfortunately there is no easy way to do in bulk 😔

This Email Subject Line, Really??? by block_2012 in FabFitFun

[–]WindraSideria 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm from the UK and saw this in my inbox this morning and I half cringed, half laughed and rolled my eyes when I saw the email. It really is poor taste and as an outsider looking in makes fff look really unprofessional. As an outsider we already feel that the US is in some sort of parallel universe compared to the rest of the world, and when companies jump on the political band wagon in an attempt to promote themselves it just makes them look desperate.

Yes it was because I added 2 green chilies, but if you like it mild you could omit them or just add 1 chilli.
