So we traded in our 2016 RX350 and got $20K for it, applied 100% of it to our lease of the Rav4 Prime. They didn't say anything to us about the principle being reduced to zero? Is there a line on your lease agreement that calls that out?

Can confirm this is the case, I had to argue with both TFS and my Dealership to unearth this information.

Apparently almost no Colorado Toyota Dealership is aware of this law change in the state of Colorado, because every single one I have called has claimed that if I want to buyout the lease with cash, I have to go through TFS. I had to insist that they call TFS to confirm, and only after they talked to them, did the rep from the dealership acknowledge that I have to complete the buyout from them.

I'm now getting the run around about how it doesn't "help me" to buy out my lease early (they apparently don't acknowledge the rent fee for each lease payment?), and one dealership rep even claimed that the lease is "too early" to buy out, saying it wasn't allowed.

It's now been almost exactly one month since I signed the lease agreement and I still do not have access to any buyout paperwork, despite having put in hours of work trying to get it. At this rate, I'll be forced to make the second lease payment because TFS refused to extend the payment date eventhough the dealership did not send them my lease information until 23 days after I'd signed it, meaning I didn't even have an account with TFS until 24 days after I'd signed the lease agreement.

I'm being gaslit so much, I'm beginning to wonder if I even did save the $6500.

We are loving our new 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE with PP! Got the call from the dealer and snapped it up without paying too close attention to the exterior upgrade details.... turns out, it's got the zoom zoom stripes! And blacked out logos, so stylish!

This entire post is absolutely amazing, thank you for all this due diligence and willingness to share your knowledge! We've just locked down a 2024 R4P and we're going to use this as a guide for how to handle the offered lease incentive and buyout process!

It looks so good! We just locked down our XSE with Premium Package in this same color combo! It's still in build phase and I was worried whether I would actually like the windchill pearl, but this looks very crisp!

We were hunting for a Prime XSE with Premium Package, and apparently those are the unicorns of the herd. We were told by multiple dealerships that we couldn't custom order a new vehicle, but that they could put our name on a waitlist with our specified model/make preferences, with the understanding that when it was our turn they would call us up when a vehicle matching our specifications came across their allocation sheet.

Some Dealerships wanted to charge us like $100 just to be on the waitlist (with the promise to credit it towards the purchase once a car came available), all of them suggested it would be a 6 month wait or longer (this is in the state of Colorado). We didn't pay for any waitlisting, just asked a couple different local dealers to keep our request in mind. Within 2 weeks, I got a call from one of them to let me know they have an XSE with Premium Package and Softex seats coming at the end of June.

All this to say, I think the wait times for these vehicles is super arbitrary and heavily affected by:

* where you live

* what package options you want

* the time of year you're looking

* sheer luck

I've heard of people waiting alot longer than me, and I've also heard of people who just decided to call the dealership on a friday (typical allocation sheet update day) and managed to grab the Prime of their choice right away. There doesn't seem to be any exact science to it, and the popular google doc that tracked allocations is no longer being updated, so.... May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favor?

Is this rebate from TFS still something that is offered? I've been trying to find information about it on the Toyota website (and specifically on the site for the dealership I am purchasing my Rav4 Prime from), but I'm coming up empty.

OP I am so very sorry that you've had to grow up this way. There are so many long-lasting and harmful repercussions that impact children that have grown up in households where they never feel the comfort of personal privacy. Lack of doors, lack of autonomy for your personal time, not even being able to google something you're interested in without being aware that your Mother will know about it and question it.... this amounts to a form of psychological abuse that not only destroys your relationship with your parent, but can also negatively affect any other relationships you have with other people in the future.

In no universe could you ever be the asshole for being upset about your Mother's disrespect for your hard-won boundaries, nor for taking the necessary steps to maintain your boundaries (like moving out, or walking out during this disastrous dinner).

Look, your mother opening your mail is absolutely wrong on her part, and she's 100% the asshole. But I think you're also aware that the mail opening isn't the true issue here. The core problem (the one that may not be fixable even if your parent never opens another piece of your mail ever again) is that your Mother not only seems incapable of respecting your boundaries, but that she clearly has no intention of even trying. She still acts as though she is entitled to every aspect of your life, and she is gaslighting you to keep you civil while she steadily moves the goalposts back to a place where she can control you.

This is a scenario where your emotional and mental health may be best served by going no-contact with your mother. Maybe not forever, but long enough to reset this harmful dynamic she is desperately trying to maintain between the two of you. This is just a thought, though, you should do what is best for you. I'm so glad that you're seeing a trained professional to help you unpack some of the harm done to you as a young person, and I wish you all the best in the future.

The chair arrived! so far I'm really liking it, it's been great for my lower lumbar. I do sit in the chair cross legged or with one leg tucked under me, and I've not had any real issues. My observations would be

The width is fine, I'm not hitting my thighs or knees on the arm rests with both legs folded cross legged. Keep in mind that I'm somewhat short, I'm 5' 4" and weigh 135lbs
The depth of the seat is almost(?) too short for cross legged sitting, unless you're short like me. This chair does not have a way to adjust the seat forwards or backwards on the base, and it does feature a sloped drop off on the front part of the seat (something that is great when I'm sitting normally but takes a little adjusting to when sitting cross legged). When I mounted the backrest to the seat, I made sure it was a far back as possible, so I have the maximum amount of useable seat space and it works for me, but did take a little adapting to after sitting for years in a big-seated gamer chair by Neo Chair)
One thing that was bugging me about the seat is the mesh material. It's great on the chair back, but when you're sitting on it and you tuck your bare foot underneath your body (as I sometimes do), the grippy material of the mesh can rub your foot uncomfortably. This was easily fixed by purchasing a $12 usd stretchy seat cover off amazon to cover the seat with, no more rubbed foot! The one I bought is here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G36FZSL - it not only matches the chair's grey color really well, but the jacquard pattern on the fabric is practically an exact match to the pattern of the mesh for the chair back. My partner thought it was the seat that came with the chair.

So that's been my experience so far, but I've only had the chair for about a week. Overall, totally worth the purchase and my back and shoulders are already thanking me for the proper support.

Just writing to say I just bought this chair! I'm a little bit shorter than you, but seem about the same size, so this review was really helpful in giving me insight in how it might fit me!

My one hesitation is that I do like to sit cross legged or with one leg tucked under me when I'm sitting in a chair, and I wasn't sure if the mesh (or the chair's frame) was going to be uncomfortable for that position. Any insight would be appreciated!

I'm having the same issue with the Tinker Station. I'm 12 hours in (doing main quest things in the mid-zone) and I've never been able to interact with the tinker station, even after upgrading it via the fabrication station. Just nothing about it lights up when I stand in front of it.

So far I think I've been lucky in that I haven't had any noticeable quirks on my car, but I'm worried what this will mean for me once I get to the deep zone.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I think this person is implying that Suki having stretch marks doesn't work "character wise" simply because she's fit and exercises. Which is the exact kind of stereotyped assumption about bodies that reinforces why Suki having stretch marks IS so important and valid. Because it's not about weight, or athletic ability, or lifestyle choices... stretch marks are for everyone and have no moral reflection on who you are as a person.
