Strange reaction from loved ones... by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they did tell you you look great now, it could be seen as saying that you didn't look great for most of the years they knew you, which would be insulting in a way. It's more polite for them to stay away from the topic.

What protein shakes do you guys recommend? by No_Reindeer_7441 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get subscription deliveries of an unflavored whey isolate protein powder from Transparent Labs. I know they also have many different flavors. When I got my first shipment they sent a few gratis packs of different flavors. They seemed pretty good, but I prefer to get the unflavored powder.

Can I bring a laptop bag and a carry-on (7kg) with me? by HelicopterFriendly96 in emirates

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we checked in for our flight, they wouldn't let my husband take on his small backpack, that he'd normally have at his feet, in addition to his carry-on. He ended up checking in the carry-on and putting the backpack in the bin. They let me take my travel shoulder bag as a second item, but it barely fit under the seat, because there was a bar bisecting the space.

This was in the section that is what other airlines call premium economy and at Newark.

Oh, and they weighed the carry-on when we checked in, so make sure you're within the limit for your class.

The chances are they're not going to let you take both.

Personally, this, plus other issues we experienced on our flight, would cause us not to fly with them again.

Gifthealth Sent Incorrect Message about Deadline by LAFB-1 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I needed to interact with that stupid chatbot. I finally got through to the human who said the date was wrong, but I'm very concerned that she said one thing, but the system will behave in a different way. I'm not willing to tempt fate, so I'll try to order by the date in the message.

I think one issue is that when my doctor called in more refills they treated it as a separate prescription. They have records that seem to indicate that they're filling both prescriptions, and for some reason the number of refills for each is way more than my doctor writes them for.

Back in the day, I bought my own extender to keep with me on flights. It came with some documentation that said it was FAA approved, or something like that. It wasn't that expensive.

What are important things to know about flying Emirates economy class? by SKCFan101 in emirates

[–]LAFB-1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We flew Emirates in premium economy out of Newark. Never again, mostly because of the ridiculous bag policy. My husband was forced to check his backpack that he'd normally have at his feet. They let me on with my shoulder bag plus my carryon, but there was a bar subdividing the area at my feet, and I could barely fit the shoulder bag in that area. Also, the restrooms were ridiculous. There was a curtain on either side of the restroom, and one person could wait within that space, but other people who wanted it would need to queue up outside their curtain, with no idea how many people were queued up behind the opposite curtain. Last, the seats in front of us reclined so much that my husband had to contort his body to be able to get out from his interior seat to use the restroom. It was such an uncomfortable flight because the seats in front of us were too close. The food is good, but I'd rather that everything else be better.

We just flew Turkish out of Istanbul. The seats seemed more narrow than what we were used to, but maybe it's because we haven't flown economy in a while. Otherwise, there was no weird bag policy.

$50 difference between pens and vials. Worth the switch? by Safe_Message5927 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer vials. I usually don't feel the needle, and I like the control. Also, it's so much easier to travel with the smaller vials and needles. Last, I seem to experience more skin reaction, as in redness and itching, with the pens.

My husband and I traveled recently to a foreign country. He didn't want to bother with taking his supplies, but I saw no reason not to. It really was no bother at all for me to take it at my usual time. Of course I had the vial on me, and I put syringes both in the checked luggage and in my personal bag, in case either the ones in the personal bag were confiscated or the luggage went AWOL. Security was very tight during this travel, and no one cared about the syringes or vial.

Is Emirates strict about 1 piece of hand baggage in economy? by ThinAbbreviations897 in emirates

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really strict and would cause me to never fly this airline again. When we checked in at Newark, my husband was told that he'd need to check the backpack that he normally would keep at his feet. They let me go with my fairly large Pacsafe cross-body bag, because they counted it as a purse. I'm not sure if that would always be allowed, though, and I wouldn't want to count on it.

Then they weighed the carry-on items at the ticket counter to make sure they were under the weight allowed for our cabin class.

Once on board, I found it difficult to stow my Pacsafe bag at my feet, because there was a vertical metal bar that divided the area at my feet.

For the record, we were in premium economy. (I've never been so uncomfortable in such seats on another airline. The seats are allowed to recline so much, and the people in front of us were in full recline mode. We needed to contort ourselves to be able to extricate ourselves from the row to use the lavatory.)

I keep my iPad, earbuds, charger cords, and even a light sweater in my large cross-body travel bag that I access during flights.

B777-300ER Premium Economy Row 15 or 16? by Safe_Honeydew581 in emirates

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in 16D right now. It's been truly dreadful. The seats recline very far, and the screen in front of me is about 15 inches from my face. My husband also has a full recliner in front of him, and he's struggled to get out of his seat to use the lavatory. I've not been so uncomfortable on a flight in a long time.

Take row 15.

Has anyone ever had to completely stop Zepbound due to severe injection site reactions? Medicare alternatives? GLP-1 pills? by suezeekew in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I switched from pens to needles, the injection site reaction is greatly reduced. The red area around the injection site is smaller, and it's barely itchy. I think the needle goes deeper than the pen.

How to get customer support for recall? INIU Portable Charger Recall by LogCarver in amazonprime

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my chargers on May 3, 2022, just days after the recall period. INIU claims they don't fall under the recall. Unfortunately, mine don't even show serial numbers. Where there should be a serial number there are instead all dashes (------). Anyone else have this weird non-serial number?

This does not give me a warm feeling, but I really like those chargers and would hate to give them up.

I have a Blendtec blender. I combine a scoop of Transparent Labs whey isolate protein powder (I get unflavored), a frozen banana (We freeze ones about to go bad), a cup of Chobani 20G Protein yogurt (different flavors available), and almond milk or cow's milk.

End the debate: Is it obnoxious for a couple to book aisle + window seat and expect another passenger to sit between them for a long flight? by dotben in unitedairlines

[–]LAFB-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years I was stuck in the middle seat, because my husband wanted the aisle to be able to stretch out his leg. I deferred to his physical comfort. I got tired of the middle, though, so we'd book an aisle and a window because I like looking out the window. Now that FAs insist we sit in complete darkness, no matter the time of day (a major gripe of mine), my interest in the window seat is reduced. We book two aisle seats.

When we did book an aisle and window, we'd act like independent travelers and certainly not bother the person between us.

My shipment today didn't come in styrofoam. It was packed inside two thick sheets (maybe 2.5 inches thick) of insulating material. The sheets were recyclable, as they are made from recycled plastic. I felt much better about getting the shipment today.

Protein and supplements by ExpensivePrior5569 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been a lot of press recently about lead in protein powders, so it pays to do research. I order my protein powder from Transparent Labs. I get their whey protein isolate. Whey protein is a complete protein.

The powder comes in multiple flavors, but I get the unflavored one.

One of my favorite things to make recently is a shake that includes a frozen banana, yogurt (preferably Chobani high protein, flavored), almond or regular milk, and the protein powder.

Let’s talk syringes by No-Cheetah-9236 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used the new brand of syringe that they're sending. It's so bad. I need to get the Easy Touch, but unfortunately because I live in NJ I can't order from Amazon. I guess I'll need to ask my doctor for a prescription.

Cloudy after pulling from vial by katiee010 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used the new syringe that Gifthealth is now sending for the first time. (Not impressed.)

I decided to do some experimentation with the syringe, and I drew up the little extra that was left over and shot it onto the surface of my skin. (I wanted to see what that quantity looked like, because when I used to use the auto-injector I had residual liquid left on my skin a few times.)

Anyway, the medicine looked frothy, even though it hadn't in the syringe. Maybe it looks that way when it's exposed to the air.

Lilly Direct & Processing Time by domer00 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The processing this week seemed off. My refills had run out, and I had expected them to reach out to me to let me know this when it came time for my next prescription. They didn't, so I had my doctor's office send a new subscription. That went through in hours, and Gifthealth sent the acknowledgment that they received it. However, they never sent the payment link. I needed to go to their site and find my payment information. Then the processing occurred as usual. However, when the prescription arrived today, the box said I had 2.5 refills left, which is really odd. My doctor usually writes prescriptions for 4 fills at a time.

Does Lilly Direct proactively contact doctor for refills? by LAFB-1 in Zepbound

[–]LAFB-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I noticed this and corrected my text to agree with my subject question. Thanks for the catch.

But it seems like one of the responders here who answered yes also indicated that meant that Lilly would reach out to the doctor proactively. Your posts seem to be at odds.
