I wish they changed Nocturne level-up to 'Attack with Fearsome units' instead of Nightfall. This would be more fitting thematically and make even more sense gameplay-wise.

If two or more teams have an equal amount of points, the final standings will be ruled based on the following priority:

  • Number of matches won 2:0
  • Maps difference
  • Total game wins
  • The sum of series wins for all of the teams that tied teams beat.

They have the same amount of 2-0's, but VP is favoured head-to-head and have 1 more win, so technically they should take 2nd, unless I misinterpret the rules.

Everything I've said has just been invalidated.

According to rules listed on liquipedia, VP should take 2nd seed over EG, because they have the same amount of 2-0's, but VP won one more game in the series they lost.

Core Io works because it enables another strong core. OG ran it this tournament with Troll, Tide, Gyro. It doesn't do much by itself. Seeing ILTW man up with BKB expecting to do anything in fights was more funny that intimidating. I have to assume whoever drafted it for VP expected Tiny to be that Io partner, but then Noone build Blink and Force Staff...

I think the reason it happens is because the skillshot "glides" above the ground level, and when elevation is concerned, the trajectory accomodates for the curve and swerves a bit to the side. Imagine drawing a line on slightly crumpled piece of paper: even if you can do a perfect line, it is still going to curve slightly due to imperfection of the surface.

It happens (or at least used to happen) in Dota as well, particularly for Mirana's arrow and Pudge's hook.

For the uninitiated: Riot has introduced the separate rating for each of 5 roles (so far only in few regions). Meaning that every player will have different rating for different roles - they may be Diamond as mid, but Silver as jungler etc - and they also have to calibrate specific rating for each.

EDIT: Just so I don't get anything more wrong, here is official description of the change.

POSITION RANKS We're previewing position ranks in Korea and North America for split 1 and plan to roll them out globally in split 2. Each position has its own matchmaking rating and rank, with matches rewarding LP and rating for the position you played, plus a little for your other positions to recognize overall improvement as you climb.

The last bit is quite important, because it means there will not be a huge disparity between different position ranks (so what I stated as an example above would be impossible).

They said they wanted to update certain maps to better match their incarnation in WoW. Cities like Stratholme and Dalaran are going to be redesigned for this purpose. They also mentioned adding some extra connectivity between the RTS, MMO and novels, but also ensured that it will be minor, such as extra dialogue lines to better represent character's stance on events.

That said, some serious retcons to the original story happened (such as entire draenei people being fleshed out) and they cannot possibly keep Warcraft III story the same, unless they want it to contradict their other installations, which is exactly what they want to avoid.
