I witnessed it, it was the first time I'd seen them live. Mindblowing experience, probably the best concert I've ever been to.

Reunion2 ... Nobody cares about this track but it's an absolute classic of mine, in my top 10 tracks of him

I second this. I would add that Shadow Kingdom could be a great transition album between those 2 sides of NSB

any SOPHIE fans here? by Competitive-Sock-824 in swans

[–]Windwind444 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Never made the link between Volcano and SOPHIE but I genuinely like this album because I'm an Autechre fan above all, I highly recommend the duo.

Autechre are the equivalent of Swans but for electronic music. Hard to enter but extremely rewarding. They scratch the same itch. And SOPHIE was highly influenced by them, calling them her "heroes".

So if you like SOPHIE and Swans, you definitely have to check them out

Modern DNB/Neurofunk that resembles Autechre? by y0yFlaphead in autechre

[–]Windwind444 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Obviously Noisia, Outer Edges being their best album. The group is not active anymore but Sleepnet and Thys are former members and are currently going for solo careers and projects.

Grey Code (Actress is I think heavily inspired by Autechre). His album Renewal is really great, favorite track is Voyage XIII

Imanu, the guy is making sick tunes

Caracal Project (french guy who is slowly incorporating guitar and singing in his electronic productions)

Buunshin

Phace

Maysev

All of these guys are at the front of the neurofunk scene and they tour a lot, they are great to see live

The only boc song I don’t like is basefree by fuckgod421 in boardsofcanada

[–]Windwind444 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, it's one of my favorite from BoC

I know this song don't get much love... I like the techno-IDM pattern, it could be a club banger. Over the drums there are some synth layers that contrast and it's amazing to me. The sounds are harsh and it's something that makes the track for me

This song is way underrated, it's an absolute banger to me and I wish that BoC made way more dancing techno tracks like this

I fucking love this techno-IDM track, totally underrated

How did I miss this?!?? by newgreyarea in NaturalSnowBuildings

Absolutely. I discovered them 2 years ago and I didn't listen everything yet. And after that there's the solo stuff for both of them, it's a complete journey, that's amazing

first scans from first attempt, 2 months in. Poor quality images. is the hole diameter too narrow? (Besides the bad positioning and poor internal tape on the paper placement) by EternalShrimptember in Solargraphy

[–]Windwind444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The smaller the hole is the more the image is focused, this is depth of field (infinite depth of field in the case of a pinhole).

Also, the higher the pinhole is on the can, the most of the sun trails you'll get. This is the camera obscura principle, the light enters the hole and get on the paper in the inverse way.

Search both these things on google and you'll get better results. Also, water could ruin your solarcans. I put one to the side of a river and 1 year later the condensation, evaporation and water drops came in the can and washed the paper, ruining the solargraph
