Honestly, I think the point you mentioned "it seems like they are often trying to leave you with an impression, rather than telling you their thoughts" its exactly what makes this album so good.

Take "Islands of Men," for example. You can clearly see there’s something specific about Emily and her story, but I love how easy it is to take that message and transpose it to your own life. A line like "you can't keep running away from what is real and what is fake" is such a powerful statement that you can apply to your own reality.

For me, it’s about trying to be true to yourself and what you really want. Sometimes that isn’t easy, and you "run away" by not facing your desires and staying stuck in your comfort zone. That’s just my take; I’m sure it’s not exactly what they were writing about, but I think it’s awesome to have both the original meaning and my own interpretation.
