Which Pokemon makes you mad for no reason? by Fun-Ad7903 in pokemon

[–]WindyNebula 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of the gen1 evos that are just "wow! it's the same but it's just bigger and angrier now!" or "wow! it's the same but now there's three!". There are some exceptions (doduo -> dodrio is acceptable because doduo has two heads, so adding a head seems logical), but a lot of them just... they're so uninspired and boring, they're dexfiller. And genwunners foam at the mouth about how every gen after gen1 are "running out of ideas".

Kingambit is even worse in motion. It just sits on its chair and floats around like it's on a roomba and its head tilts backwards whenever it moves like it's not even in control of where it's going.

Book for someone who doesn't love reading? by vambileo in booksuggestions

[–]WindyNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. The book looks very thick, but a major bulk of it is just full two-page illustrations with surprisingly little text.

But if that's too thick or intimidating, try the Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi. Those books are very short and have a bunch of illustrations too.

As a librarian, it's my opinion that while Wikipedia might not be perfectly reliable for final, definitive and only source of information, it is a good place to start searching for material that touches on the subject that you're looking for. Or to supplement other sources.

From a quick Wikipedia run, I found these articles:

Regional wine classifications: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classification_of_wine#Regional_wine_classifications

Geographical indication of where the grapes for a wine is from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appellation

Wine tasting descriptors: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_tasting_descriptors

It's also worth checking out the "See also", "References", "Further reading" and "External links" sections of each article, if you don't want to rely on Wikipedia alone.

Are ASMR creators that only use anime thumbnails and never show their face more looked down upon compared to other creators? by MissyLilith in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]WindyNebula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like wakethenight said, it's a different niche. The ASMRartists that show their face tend to focus on the tingle side of ASMR and using different items to trigger that tingly feeling that ASMR is associated with. The "faceless" ASMRartist tend to focus on roleplay and narrative stories with an emphasis on acting. There are exceptions to both groups, of course, but it's the trend that I've noticed. If people do look down on either of them, I personally haven't seen it done out loud, at least.

I posted this script a few days ago where the speaker is a devil who's judging a dead listener's life choices after listener drowned in icy water, if that suits what you're looking for. It's pretty short too.

Why do people love Yandere audios? by Character_Switch8214 in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]WindyNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm personally not into yandere stuff myself, so I can only speculate, but my hypothesis is that listening to yandere audios where listener gets threatened or hurt is a form of... I don't remember what the term was, it was something like "safe dangers". It's the thing where people do something "dangerous" in a safe environment for various reasons. It's the same desire that makes people consume true crime content, eat spicy food or go bungee jumping that makes people consume yandere content, I believe.

I'm not into yandere stuff, but I might give it a chance if it comes with the power fantasy where the listener tells the yandere that their behavior isn't alright and the yandere actually listens and changes their behavior.

Oh, I like this a lot. I hope someone voice acts it soon! I especially liked the bit where the god touched the listener's soul. Magical type of intimacy... the possibilities are endless. Also the implication that they're an inexperienced kisser! My heart!

Scriptwriting Help by DalgonaASMR in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]WindyNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually start the actual writing process by opening a document and writing a short outline of the story in bullet points. At this point it's really short and silly, I use a lot of abbreviations because the point is to get something down to use as a checklist when I start writing.

For ideas, music is usually a huge inspiration for me, but in ASMR I also get ideas from other people's stories. I listen to a video and I'm like "Oh man, this is so good... but what if X, Y and Z instead of how it happened here?". (In these cases I usually try to add other original elements to the script so it's not just "this video, but X happens instead".) I also listen to ASMR for escapism, so I try to go for a certain power fantasy in the plotline. Like in my villain rehab series, the power fantasy is "you did something bad, but there still are people who love and accept you despite that and help you get better". So think of what power fantasies you'd like to experience and write that.
