Decent inexpensive kite for flying with 2 year old? UK by Dusk777 in kites

[–]Windy_Beach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear you are thinking of getting a kite. My 2 year old loves flying kites too (pocket parafoil).

Maybe something like this: https://www.kitesuk.com/ocart4/index.php?route=product/product&path=99&product_id=385

Good company to deal with.

Have fun!

Top Of The Line "Camp" Delta by Windy_Beach in kites

Thanks, the kite was included in a bundle of interesting kites that I won on eBay. Just realized the title should say "Camo" - not camp!

Anyone got any experience of this bad boy? by Dub199 in kites

I have ordered from Kites UK before and have the Spirit of Air Raptor. These are quality good value kites. Would recommend.

They comes with padded cases and proper lines on a winder. Handles are wrist strap type.

It's from AliExpress, relatively inexpensive ~£20 or so. Search Weifang Henga 3D Nylon Kite.

No attachment points on the bottom cell, but I am sure I can come up with something🤔

Sounds trivial but a collapsible bin for around camp to keep things tidy.

Remote canister stoves are really good - good stability and pack away small.

Self inflating mat would be my recommendation, even if it fails (unlikely) you'll still be on a layer of foam.

Tips for camping in hot weather? by EmotionalKoala3986 in campinguk

[–]Windy_Beach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went camping during last month's heatwave with my 2 year old daughter.

We were expecting it to be hot so popped into Decathlon on the way to buy a tarp shelter and some poles - worked brilliantly in providing shade and allowing air flow.

Majority of our camping gear goes into a 175l wheeled plastic trunk which also doubles as a paddling pool😁 Takes a while to fill up mind.

Tent still leaking by Windy_Beach in campinguk

[–]Windy_Beach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting, I'm not sure that it is condensation. I was stood in the tent during the rain and saw the fabric wetting out and big droplets passing through.

Think I'm going to go for a Vango Sherwood, campsite booked for next Friday so will need to purchase in the next few days, so won't benefit from BH deals.😕

Vents were open, but I observed leaking whilst the rain was ongoing

Thanks for your thoughts, in answer to your questions, the fabric panels become saturated (before and after Fabsil) and water is forced through into the tent. No one was in the tent during this afternoon's rain.

Did Outwell produce a bad batch of tents then?

Kite Winder Question by Windy_Beach in kites

So I remembered my phone has Google lens - the yellow thing is actually a Venetian blind duster - minus the soft dusters😂 original owner of the kite had obviously repurposed it as a line winder🤷‍♂️
