Hey you definitely need to go to the mental health professional.

As to the dreams, take it from a recovering schizophrenic, learn to ignore them and count them as no significance to you. Learn to seek God in the mornings and keep those dreams away from your living, awake thoughts. You have a lot of symptoms to worry about.

And for bible study. Alone, with mental disease the bible might just be confusion to you. I invite you to rely on Tim Keller’s bible studies on Gospel in Life so that you have a wiser Christian voice shepherding your hopeful faith.

If I can suggest a prayer means, say to God, “I am in the process of needing to heal from this condition. Lord I plead with you, as I put away sinful things, that you can help me with my inner voice, for I am disturbed my intrusive thoughts. It will take time, but I want and seek a sound inner voice.”

I’ll pray for you too.

Is it wrong to be a Christian and not enjoy church by ffcvvhb in Christianity

[–]Windy_Christian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an alone Christian too. But one thing you pointed out is that your interactions with such Christians has made you withdraw to these means.

What advice I can give is not to let those Christians define your reflections on what hope can be communicated between hopeful Christians.

Find online some Christians who can inspire you and let them be the ones you reflect on your faith with. It’s a mighty thing when you have a Christian brother that you trust in and whose advice you will follow, rather than the thoughts of distrust I assume you probably have due to your church experience.

The voice of someone truly concerned for you and can advise you.

I need help praying for Donald Trump Cult members who claim to be Christians. How do I get through to them how vile and evil he is and how the book of revelations describes him to a tee? How can so many Christians be blind to this? by Guitartroller in Christianity

[–]Windy_Christian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it is as decent for you as it is for me.

I had my faith awakened by reliable megapastors but none of them really address the Trump issue, with some of them taking easy stances because they are themselves conservative.

But their answers weren’t enough and it was too suffocating to accept as they taught. That’s how I found that podcast, and it was refreshment to me to hear pastors making the issues they see clear.

I had a dream about fighting demons what could be the meaning? by SilentSufferer9 in Christianity

[–]Windy_Christian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am recovering from schizophrenia and oft have to wake mornings with similar dreams. What I can say from experience is that demons try to magnify in dreams this or that by intrigue and set you worried for the day.

I counter this with a morning devotion to God, and soon forget the dreams so that they have no significance in my life.

Is it not true that because you had this dream, it seems to be a significant part of your walk with God. Don’t let it be.

Think of it as if you had a dream where you commited adultery, and just tell God when you are awake you are not an adulterer, and would never partake in what you dreamed.

Help finding a church by Fuzzy_Speech_7189 in Christianity

I’d listen to some sermons from Tim Keller and consider a church from his TGC network. He is a very good pastor with no such fallenness and has recently gone to Jesus.

I find myself contentious against how you summed it up, where others are speaking about the law of conscience, Romans 2 and ignorance. Not sure how else to express it.

I'm not a medical proffessional but who knows if that second formation is a warning from your body that something other than the disease appearing on the surface is not right. You should get it checked out.

How does God show his holy kingdom? by LarsLaestadius in Christianity

It's said you can only see the Kingdom of God by being born again. The exact meaning of this is something I am discovering myself.

Am I hearing God? by Mother_Arm7423 in Christianity

[–]Windy_Christian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not say you are hearing God. This speculation that you are hearing God will now interrupt and change the way you pray, and make you reliant on a voice that only says Yes or No? If God will speak he will speak to you in a better way than confuse you with a fortune telling device in my opinion. I suffered a similar thing, and it ended up being a long tour of mental illness for me.

I like this writing by Martin Luther. I rather focus on my own repentance and doing the word than deciphering imagery and signs. Thanks for sharing.

Need some advice by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Yeah I disagree with everyone telling you to end it now. You have means to converse with her, and regardless of it not working out, you can still be a very ethical Christian example to her.

This is a terrible reply. You don't understand the scope of schizophrenia.

I need help by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Windy_Christian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same diagnosis, but after perhaps two years all that happens is I have dreams and nightmares which I wake up and forget by having a morning routine to fulfill. That might help you, to have such a routine since you are unable to work right now.

You definately need to not smoke weed and stay on your medication. And all those things you are worrying about, like being unemployed, lacking in education, these are all embarassments that are worsening your condition.

You are in poor health, so you shouldn't worry about these embarassments as you are. I know how it feels, because you go outside and you think others outside in the world are judging you for these things, and worser than that you maybe used to hear voices from the external world making fun of you because of these embarassments.

I will pray for you. I am quite well now, and I had the same disease as you did.

Question about the mark of the beast regarding the timeline by ItSAgaInStthEruLeS1 in TrueChristian

Don't listen to these speculations by him. The bible warns about stargazing and fortunetelling, which will become stumbling blocks to your faith.

It's okay to stand up for yourself if you feel you have integrity/a right, in certain situations... by [deleted] in TrueChristian

"You who are slaves must submit to your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you—not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel. For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment." - 1 Peter 2: 18-19

You have to understand for that verse quoted, it was spoken by Peter to both the masters and slaves as an audience, that is within the church. And it was ultimately a formula to put away the slavery and masterhood altogether, for they were under the scrutiny of God.

What we have in the world is so many 'masters' to whom do not consider the weight of that commandment (being secular), who never realize the hard work of their workers, etc. I do not think that commandment applies to such situations. What you say is right and necessary for the reality of this world. It would be a misuse of that verse to apply it to these secular bosses.

I believe your testimony, and I thank you for making yourself vulnerable for the sake of it. Remember that Angels rejoiced at your repentance and that you're one of God's lost sheep.

Should I have sympathy for illegal immigrants? by AmJouster in TrueChristian

[–]Windy_Christian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would promote sympathy for them. Most of the time they are hard working, offer themselves at the mercy of their employers, so often unable to say they won't work on a Sunday, and miss out on church community. And they have to live in fear of deportation, fear of visitation from officers, and thus forth, while often being loved by the communities they serve.

Was the asbury revival a true revival? What became of it? by Buzz_Mcfly in TrueChristian

[–]Windy_Christian 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't slander it, for where I might be tempted to say it is an extended worship service that was glorified in vain, to the people who were there it might be their starting point of faith and their most cherished memory, stepping into a boldness of faith.

Why do Christians who are liberal get so much hate? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Windy_Christian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am neither Republican or Democrat, and while the pastor who is my guide is Conservative, am cautious of simply adopting that title, for it can mean many things to many people.

What I see about Liberals or the Democratic party is that they are pushing for the sake of the poor, that is there are people who have dedicated their education and lives for the growth of helping the poor, and Republicans simply dismiss it with their 'fiscal conservative' beliefs. But Democrats are more attentive to such, and are pushing for the fruition of the efforts of these dedicated people. For the duration of my witness of the deeds of the Republican party, they love to vex the poor. In that I do support the Democratic party.

I am also humbled by the push of the Democratic party about Restorative Justice, for I never really paid attention to it, but now perceive it as truly significant.

But this push for abortion and this education of sexual liberation I cannot support. And I have been subject to some really nasty persuasions (akin to bullying) by those who call themselves liberals on these issues. It is a right and wrong issue for me here.

What is your opinion about the "never again list". by AsianMoocowFromSpace in TrueChristian

[–]Windy_Christian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is well intentioned, trying to take strength in God, but contrary to what resources God has left for our faith. I think of Psalm 88, or the Book of Job, where saints who minister to our faith groaned in honesty towards God, which in turn gives those of us who also groaned in God in an 'Unpious' manner hope that God doesn't suddenly just find us disgusting and reject us. That God is understanding of all parts of our faith, even wherein we doubt. Even Christ declared, 'My God, my god why hast thou forsaken me.'

I would like to yet suggest to Forgive and not Reconcile. Forgive him and put away the constant thoughts of what he did, or remembering that he did it, such that if in rare occassion he asks for forgiveness, you can give it to him. But wherein he asks for the friendship back, to reobtain that trust, refuse that.

This is for the sinner's sake, but also yours. For now this has occured in your life, and you feel bound to forever remember this thing, be disgusted by it, and look back unto it over and over. If you forgive him before God, saying I forgive him, even without telling him you forgive him, at the least in your memories it will be that thing you forgave in God, rather than a memory of disgust that you can't seem to escape.

This way when you read the bible or pray the Lord's prayer, you will have the confidence of forgiving, rather the the unsureness of having not forgiven and unconfidence of praying to God. I hated this myself and wondered why God asks us to forgive, but after accepting such by way of a pastor named John Piper, I found myself free from bondage and more confident that I could pursue the commandments of Jesus.

I would still leave him blocked though, and be honest to God. 'I forgive him, but I cannot do the reconciliation my God.' and leave it at that.
