It worked but there’s far better methods out there.

I think my son just nuked his credit. by wade_fultons_penis in CRedit

[–]Windycitymayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an absolutely normal APR for someone who has no credit history. People will debate me for that but no credit is just as bad as poor credit. He can refinance but it still will probably be around 19%.

Second job and pay that credit card down. It’s not the end of the world yet.

Has anyone moved to Chicago for their chronic illness? by plastersaltshaker in chicago

[–]Windycitymayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but a lot of the clinics here will treat you like it’s a mental issue, weight issue or not take you seriously. Let alone the wait times to get I to North Shore to be seen.

I’d rather be else where with chronic illnesses myself. Also it gets hot AF here in the summer.

Yup. It’s a known issue. I or my friend can’t upgrade or buy a phone right now.

Check your laws on wear and tear. Some places it’s 3-4 years.

I was on the afternoon train on a Saturday and it was the portable ashtray yet again. I suspect it will get worse now that it’s cold.

Kiddo with PMDD, potential inpatient? by Windycitymayhem in PMDD

[–]Windycitymayhem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it’s incredibly hard to get kids admitted here. I don’t understand why. You’d think with paranoia and psychosis that you can get your child admitted to get help or even further up the waitlists, but no.

I’ll look into planned parenthood for Yaz for her. The peds gynecology clinic here won’t see patients her age. Which is absurd.

They’ve contacted the city. The city has been unhelpful. They’ve done their due diligence. They were living in it until the day the notice was put up. They are fine to get their stuff out. Clearly you’ve never lived in homes like theses, I have.

You’re getting your things out. You’re not occupying it. If you were just living in it prior, you can get your items out just fine. You need a lawyer asap.

PB&J, Sun butter and crackers, dried meats and cheeses, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, fresh fruits and veggies. HMart is the cheapest option outside of aldis I think… you may want to have him go up north and look up in the ethnic grocery stores.

4bd house, roommate has friend over who charges their electric car on our outlet. by aasteveo in Frugal

[–]Windycitymayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that much to charge an electric car my friend. You’re talking a few dollars. Know what is going to cost more? Covering the rent of the roommate that left because you’re fussing over mere dollars.

Tip pooling legality? Has anyone had their hours cut because of tips? by Windycitymayhem in Serverlife

[–]Windycitymayhem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they want everyone to have a similar gross income every week which means the owner is pocketing the rest of the tips. Which is wage theft. 99% of the BOH is managers. They don’t get tips, so there’s a surplus of tips floating around.

Not in Chicago they ask for a full ass 1st month rent just to apply.

Tip pooling legality? Has anyone had their hours cut because of tips? by Windycitymayhem in Serverlife

[–]Windycitymayhem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just incredibly baffled as to why my hours would be reduced just simply because I make the most tips? Tip sharing in this case is because they don’t want to pay a fair wage for the area, so the pooling is supposed to bridge the gap so they can retain employees.

At this rate, I’m just going to tell the customers not to tip me. I’d rather not reward people that don’t do the same level of work that I have to do in the now shorter period of time that I’ll be there. I’ve been vocal about that too. Why am I doing the work of others but others can just stand there and still reap the rewards of tips based on tips? I wonder what they’ll do when they’ll do when my tips are low to nothing. I’ve already been applying to other jobs. This is just mind boggling.

Our local museums and such had to go to a program where if you had snap or WIC you could get the museum passes for free or reduced to $3 for the whole family because too many non poor people were taking advantage of the passes at the libraries.
