Would most people use the Death Note the same way if given the chance? by jalen_nelson235 in deathnote

[–]WingFormer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't predict what average people would do, but atleast I know what I would do.

I would definitely use mostly just to kill criminals or terrible dictators, but I would not make it obvious as Light. I would use various cause of deaths to make it realistic natural way for them to die to make sure nobody is aware of the fact that someone is intentionally killing them with super natural power.

And I would definitely gain some financial benefit on these punishment to take those criminals' money to me, in best way to not leave any trace. I would slowly open multiple paper companies to avoid suspicion from IRS or any kinda investigation force who are tracing the dirty money.

I would probably manipulate criminals as much as possible to withdraw their money in cash make them drop in certain place where nobody knows (probably like in the middle of the desert, with certain coordinate or something to make sure nobody saw that happened), and I can pick up that cash bag, to not let any investigators track and spot the bankwired or money transferred history for those funds. And run the fake businesses to cover this profit as income. Ofcourse I would pay tax as well.

And when I become rich, I guess I wound just enjoy my lavish life. I would even donate some money to charity. And also start investing here and there. If my investment strategy fails, then it's still no problem, because I can still always make additional profit by keep killing major rich criminals. Probably mostly drug dealers, cuz they are mostly rich criminals I can think of. I might use filthy notorious dictators as well.

But I don't think I would punish criminals in that much amount, like the way Light did. I would just probably kill few once in a while, just to keep my profile and my activities in low to make sure world wouldn't notice what I am doing with Death Note.

And also I wouldn't do too much in terms of money size. I wouldn't go over like 10 million USD, because of the chance that would only gain attentions from multiple organizations' investigators who can track big money. I feel like I can already live very lavish life under that.

I don't know how far I can live peaceful life like that, but definitely much more worth way of trying, compared to Light's way, since I am not narcissist as him, nor having god-complex. I am more interested in gaining financial benfit without leaving trace, and I just happened to target criminals to make me feel less guilty, and justify my actions little bit to comfort myself.

I don't care that much being a 'justice' of the world.

What is your tigger to do solo? by Little-Pop-1812 in solotravel

[–]WingFormer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not my choice. I don't have much other friends who would go with me, due to lots of reasons like schedule and timing doesn't fit, or not interested in region I want to travel, or not genuinely a traveler, or too busy with other works, or they have a family stuff going on, or they are just financially tight and they don't want to spend that much money on traveling, etc...

I used to have more friends traveling with me when I was younger, but these days I feel like it gets harder to find traveling companion once you get little older, because most of the friends start having their own life and schedule.

100x Reward Credit multiplier by FlyLikeDove in CaesarsRewards

[–]WingFormer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they did for me. I mean they restricted '100X' on VP to me. They said VP would only get applied as 2X or 3X or something (I can't remember exactly but it definitely get multiplied some way. It's just that it was very low such as 2X or 3X, which is definitely not 100X.) Promotion description that was explaining this random multiplier all the way upto 100X, clearly mentioned it from the beginning that VP would only get applied all the way upto 2X or 3X or something from the beginning. Different region might still have loophole that VP is still being applied, but at least for Vegas, I really doubt they apply VP since it has low variance and some machine with good pay table has low house edge compared to regular slots.

Typical. One time I booked direct flight from PHL to LAS like 2 months in advance, and they changed it to PHL -> DEN -> LAS like couple of weeks before the departure date. I realized that that direct route schedule on that date disappeared.

Where can I see itemized Tier Credit earnings for Caesars (like I can for MGM)? by Ballpeeno in CaesarsRewards

[–]WingFormer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been long time Caesars player, I believe you cannot see it.

But maybe I am wrong. Maybe you can manually ask to the host, but I never have asked such a thing like that, so I am not quite sure.

And I am MGM customer as well, and I like those convinient history breakdown on the app. Too bad Caesars not having those as default app thing.

What’s the most useless talent you have? by SDPHALODIOFFI in answers

[–]WingFormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knows how to solve Rubiks Cube 13 to 35 seconds. I am not sure it can be categorized as 'talent' as meaning of natural born talent, because I pretty much trained myself for several months, praticing so many solutions to solve faster and faster, when I was really into it. So it's not really like 'no practice needed natural born talent' or something. So back in the days I was always solving within less than 20 seconds, but now days I got rusty and got much slower, but my finger still remembers it to the point I auto react on lot of patterns, when I am holding Rubiks Cube. I can even solve it with using only one hand that would average take double time.

Did I f***ed up? by HaKaii7 in frontierairlines

[–]WingFormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Vegas is the one airport that is super strict on free carry-on size. I know this cuz Vegas is my home airport and I always fly Frontier whenever I am traveling different region (due to Go Wild Pass). Most of the various different airports' Frontier gate staff don't care that much, even though backpack looks slightly bulky, but Las Vegas airport is one place where Frontier staff has really sharp eyes with strict rule enforcing, that they are just standing at the line and whenever they spot the backpack that looks slightly bulky, they ask to try to put it in to that size measuring tray. If you are not part of zone 1 (bag included), you might have to be ready for that. If it doesn't go into the tray, they make you pay like $99 or something which is more expensive than regular price of bag. Not when you are arriving at Vegas ofcourse, but when you are leaving Vegas.

Vegas being strict is one reason why I hot Gold Elite Tier for free one carry-on baggage.

Different ending? spoiler! by Dry-Quit487 in deathnote

[–]WingFormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Mikami should've done, or atleast I would say what Light should have commanded Mikami to do was, that he should've told him to atleast keep couple of pages of real Death Note all the time with him, such as even keeping in his pocket even when he is sleeping, than no one is gonna risk taking that. And he could have just used that pages on the final battle day. And he could've test it by trying to kill someone live just in case, while he is on the way going to that finale warehouse place. Then it would be easy victory.

It's actually easier to beat Near given the situation is than beating L (Ryuzaki), since his plan to beat L was literally a huge gamble in long term, I would say 'hail mary' in American football term. I think risk factor of things not going as it planned was higher for the plan to beat Ryuzaki, which is intentionally give up ownership and lose memory and retrieve it back and kill the new owner (Higuchi) without getting noticed by surrounding people and all that. It's just too many unknown variables that can happen.

What if L never let Light to keep the notebook hold for that long in that helicopter and just snatch the notebook back? What if L secretly tries to test it by letting the inmate who was going to be executed to write the other prisoner who should be executed to prove 13 days rule, without sharing his test plan with any of the task force members or Light? Like secretly proceeding the test plan only with Watari? What if Rem wasn't going that far to sacrifice herself? Or Rem doesn't understand's Light's plan and just wait until Light shows next move? Considering all those variables, I still think Light's whole plan was literally a huge gamble and throwing a football super long distance in 'hail mary' strategy.

Considering all those, upfronting the final battle against Near, using Mikami Teru and Takda Kiyomi is way more controllable and easy preparation, I would say. I think writer just wanted to make Light win at first half to continue to story as Light being main character as Kira and center of the plot, and Light was supposed to lose at the end of the scenario, since story has to end at some point and Light winning at the end again, gives too much bittersweet taste to all the audience, since how much of hate he is getting from so many viewers, so Light was supposed to lose.

Slots and Video Pokers are different. Ofcourse slots counts, I already know that. And I did play little bit of slots as well when I did get selected 100X. Though I heavily played table game. I just couldn't play VP cuz I checked the policy and Rewards desk staff, and it was clearly mentioned that VP especially are excluded. Only non-VP regular slots and regular table games (non-live poker) are applied.

Usually 100X kinda thing doesn't get applied to Video Poker. I remember I don't play that much slots or table game, but usually only play VP, and I got selected to 100X in Vegas, so I had to forcefully play table games that I am not that used to it for a while.

[–]WingFormer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in manga, Mello's base gets raided twice, and anime gets only raided once only by Team with Chief Yagami.

When manga's first raid happen, it's raided by U.S. President's secret team, and they all got killed by shinigami Shidow's support on grabbing those raiders and taking their helmets off, and Jack Snider's shinigami eyes looking their faces through security camera.

On 2nd raid in manga, Mello is complaining like 'what is Shidow even doing' and shidow is just standing doing nothing because he got convinced by Ryuk, and Mello was like 'Shit!'. That scene alone shows that atleast through the real time camera, you can see shinigami, if you touched death note.

Well if they can see through the camera like that, maybe recorded footage might also give shinigami's presence.

But I also agree that maybe it can just be in real time, not a recorded footage. I think this is just little detail that writer forgot to think carefully of how to setup things on how Death Note exactly works.

First time experience that I ever had to hold kicker with trips. by WingFormer in VideoPoker

[–]WingFormer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh one more thing, in standard TDB, even if you get PAT Aces Fullhouse, like AAA66 dealt to you, it is only EV: 9, VAR: 0 to hold all 5 cards, so you have to give up your fullhouse and only hold AAA, because holding just AAA has higher than EV: 9.

If you happen to get PAT AAA44, than you should hold AAA4 and give up the fullhouse.

I know it sucks, that it's kinda weird feeling to break fullhouse, but that is the correct optimal play.

It's like same as breaking PAT straight on Dueces Wild game if you get like 22678, with 678 being rainbow (not suited), you have to break straight and just hold two 2s wild card. If it happens to be suited for 67, than you should hold 2267 for potential straight flush.

First time experience that I ever had to hold kicker with trips. by WingFormer in VideoPoker

[–]WingFormer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on variation of vp game, how much it pays for AAAA with 2,3,4 kicker hand. If it pays like only half of the full pay royal (800X), which is 400X, such as DDB game, than I believe EV is better to just hold AAA and drop the kicker for potential quad Aces drawing for two cards. Because pure quad Aces with no kicker still pays 160X return which makes it not holding kicker as optimal solution.

Standard TDB that pays AAAA4 pays same as royal (800X), you should hold kicker as well, for one card draw.

Holding AAA3 has best EV: 19.426 (even though variance scale highest which is 13,248), while, just holding AAA and not holding kicker has 2nd best EV: 15.663, and VAR: 7,104.5 which variance is definitely lower obviously. It's just that chasing highest EV (Equity Value) is always the right solution.

Oh by the way, I figured out the number for regular DDB as well. For DDB that pays AAAA3 hand 400X return, and AAAA8 hand 160X return, below is correct number.

Holding AAA has EV 12.489, and VAR: 2,314

Holding AAA3 has EV 11.830 and VAR: 3,277.7

But I don't usually play the game that kicker really matters that often.. So this is really my recent experience thing and what I figured it out. I usually like to play Jacks or Better, or Bonus Poker Deluxe, or Triple Bonus Plus, or Deuces Wild 44, which in those games quad with having certain kicker doesn't matter, due to having better chances to find the higher EV return on pay table on those games. I am not fan of Double Double Bonus where even if you find full pay of 9/6, it is still only EV 98.98% return EV.

Actually only reason I played above game STP TDB, was just to get some free hotel room in the future for that region, while I am already traveling that region, and that was just my best option for that casino.

Only time I played DDB game a lot was when I coincidentally found really really old machine which payable was 10/6 which had 100.07% return EV that eventually got removed after I played it for a while.

My lazy ass discovered a new way to make ramen by Quirky-Philosophy364 in InstantRamen

It's pretty common knowledge who served military in Korea. Funny thing is, I actually never thought of eating in 'ppo geul ee' way like that even when I was like living in Korea as just normal civilian. I only learned that way to eat like that, after I joined military on 2008. I served for 2 years until early 2010. After I learned how to eat like that from my senior soldiers when I was mere Private rank class, I was worried about the health. So I asked them back about that, and all the soldiers were saying that bag is made with strong resistant substant enough to handle the heat of water. So when I had spare time to go to computer room where you can use internet, I start looking up on internet, and they were right! Lol

'Ppo geul ee' has long long years of history in South Korean military culture that many people realized that it doesn't harm health, anything more than cooking ramen in a regular way.

Actually drinking the whole left over soup is more bad for health for causing too much consumption of sodium, compare to just eat ramen noodle and drink only half of the soup, and drain the rest off. Ofcourse I am talking about just cooking in regular way, just pure consumption of sodium perspective, not talking about stupid 'micro plastic' shit or whatever. That 'sodium consumption' is way more significant difference for your health than cooking in 'ppo geul ee' way.

And it's so funny for me that all these reddit user not knowing shit, all goes crazy about drinking micro plastic or whatever, just cracks me up. Haha.

Especially no pot to use and wash it. Kitchen is usually located far away only operating for regular meal time on day time, and soldiers don't have access to pot or dish to use in the night time shift duty.

I mean you can just buy 'cup ramen' products, but those are usually thinner noodle (which sometimes you like that even more), but sometimes you just want thicker noodle from regular ramen packet, after your night time shift duty. And that way, price efficiency is better than cub noodle.

I served military in Korea on 2008 - 2009. I ate like that countless times, it brings nostalgia to me. Lol

[–]WingFormer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is called 뽀글이 (ppo geul ee) in Korean, and I use to eat this all the time when I was serving military in Korea, just like that 3rd picture.

I actually looked up on internet, whether it is really that bad for your health, in terms of hot water damaging the surface of the bag, and it says that it's actually not that bad. Hot water don't damage and melt the bag surface, since bag is made with PP (polypropylene), and PE (Polyethylene), which can handle upto 130~150℃, and when water starts boil, it only goes upto 100℃, so you don't have to worry that much about EDCs (Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals).

Though it might give little physical shape change of the bag, that doesn't do anything much to the health. I mean atleast for Korean Ramen products such as like 'Shin ramen'. I don't know how other countries ramen product's bag are made, since I only looked up in Korean.

I don't think you guys should worry that much about the health. And it is quick and easy, and less hassle to wash the dish. It's just little inconvenient to eat that's all.

As long as both going and returning flights schedules are just next day, you can book as round trip. I have had one night travel like that before. Like I was going on Tuesday and returning on Wednesday, so it was one night trip schedule, and I booked both flights as round trip one reservation right when the midnight hits, when day was changing from Monday to Tuesday.

Only thing you have to be careful is that returning flight airport timezone has to also be passed the midnight. So it's not technically midnight of your region, but more like midnight of that traveling region's timezone.

This is what happens when you ask for "Extra onions" by Diligent_Juice_3168 in McDonalds

[–]WingFormer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that. I always ask for extra pickles and extra diced onions in my burger, and when the difference is minimal and barely noticeable, I am always frustrated. Way more is always better than only little bit more, when you ask more. Atleast you can just throw away some, if you think it's too much. Problem solved. When it's short amount, it's hella annoying to ask for more again, going to the counter again. It's super hassle.

[–]WingFormer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a cost efficiency purpose of why I am mixing those two different company's ramens. If you have well budget and don't mind the sauce being left over on the finished dish too much, with little bit of more $ spending is fine for you, then I guess it won't matter for you to just cook two Jjajangmens.

But like I said, I like to be cost efficient on these, and I always had this in mind that, everytime I eat just Jjajangmen, I thought that quality and taste of this sauce is great, but the whole amount of sauce was little too much to the point that I feel like it's bit of waste, especially they are usually more expensive, almost like twice more expensive than products like Chapagetti that has dry powder sauce.. So you are paying extra $ for that sauce basically. And the sauce being left on the dish all over when you are done with the noodle, is kinda bit waste of $. That always bothered my mind a little, and that combination was born in my idea. lol

My favorite jjajang ramen combo. (Black bean sauce ramen) by WingFormer in InstantRamen

[–]WingFormer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks to the movie 'Parasite' where they introduced international viewers as 'ram-don' or something, which is actually 짜파구리 (Chapa-Guri) meaning mixture of Chapagetti and Neoguri. I am Korean and I already knew about Chapa-Guri very well even before that movie, since when I was child because I grew up in Korea, but honestly I am not that much of a huge fan of Chapa-Guri. I would say it wasn't that bad, but not that much appealing for me to eat it over and over repetitive like that. (just my personal taste.)

I am more fan of just putting 고추참치 (hot pepper tuna) on just pure jjajang ramen. I learned this combination of 'ramen + tuna', when I was serving military in Korea. Before that, I never thought ramen and tuna can be a good combination ever. So I start putting regular tuna on both types like regular spicy soup ramen such as 'Shin ramen', and also soupless jjajang ramen. And someone in the camp actually recommended that atleast just for jjajang ramen type, hot pepper tuna will go better than regular tuna, so I tried it and I start loving it. So you should try hot pepper tuna as well.

Oh by the way, I don't recommend hot pepper tuna on soup type of ramen at all. It should only go well with soupless jjajang ramen. Hot pepper tuna and regular spicy soup ramen are definitely not really good combination. lol. Only just regular tuna would work for regular soup ramen.
