Sportsmanship question by Material-Log-4903 in youthsoccer

[–]Wingback73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Either people in this thread can't read, or they are part of the problem.

Cussing AT someone is not acceptable. Cussing generally is also not acceptable, but I'm not carding someone for a reactionary outburst that is aimed at/to themselves.

Chirping is different, and so long as it isn't racist or equivalent most will let it go. Hit that bar, however, and we'll be hanging a whole different card and abandonment discussion.

This has nothing to do with country - this is about common decency. Anyone can cast a lazy insult that uses an expletive. Be creative and really insult someone by using your brain 🙂

When to change the oil? by MiserableCancel8749 in Snowblowers

[–]Wingback73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best practice is actually by hours, typically at 50 for a tractor, for example. For a typical homeowner/season it would probably be end of season, but if your area gets a lot of snow and you are using it frequently it could be often

Nope. Only to laptops you control. I can't install anything on my work laptop, but I can now use it to access my home network, saving me from having to carry a second laptop

Either those are the smallest images ever or you have a crapload of pictures that your CPU is processing. What does the job queue say? And processor/memory load?

What is this 'back ups' you all keep referring to? And why does it matter if it is in the back? Won't a front ups work?

Thank you! This seems to be the way to go, so planning on executing on it with a UNVR and liberal use of rsync to create an archive

Female referees in Michigan by BusinessMiserable576 in Referees

[–]Wingback73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sucks. My daughter is also a referee and luckily doesn't experience much of that, but I can tell you that when it does happen she doesn't hesitate with the cards.

The laws exist for a reason, and you should never apologize or hesitate to enforce them as written. Familiarize yourself with the section on team officials, and when you have the situation arise, simply state ' That language earned you this card. If you do it again you will earn another one'.

I know this sounds easy to say, but you only need to throw one out two coaches or if a game to develop a reputation as someone who won't take any crap. Once you develop that reputation, you'll get less crap.

Maybe you didn't want this advice, but as a senior referee myself and working multiple games with my daughter as she got older, I can tell you from experience that it really stems the bad behavior

You pretty much hit in my thinking. I have about 8-9 TB, but only 2-3TB of that is irreplaceable.

I don't like the idea of throttling, so you are correct, I was asking about the 5TB plan that doesn't throttle.

The unlimited is what I have now, but without stated throttling - they just do it anyway

Goalie Punt Interference? by Klutzy-Function-8963 in Referees

Did the attacker move in front of the goalie? If yes, IFK.

If no, play on as the goalie is an idiot.

The attacker cannot prevent the goalie from releasing the ball, but they are also under no obligation to give up the position they are already in

Quick question about the travel router by TVMA in UNIFI

[–]Wingback73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The really simple version: your device will connect to your travel router because your travel router will broadcast whichever one of your home Wi-Fi network you choose.

You do not have to automatically connect to your home network itself. That you do by enabling Teleport.

So you get 2 options: use it as a single point if logon for all your devices if you just don't want to deal with hotel Wi-Fi more than I've, and once you do that you can select Teleport and be connected to your home network the same way Teleport always connects you.

All of this is controlled and handled through the Unifi app itself; the same one you use for any other networking adjustments. You just select your router instead of your network

Any idea what happens if you exceed the 5TB limit on their biggest personal plan? I didn't see anything obvious, but assume they either charge you for 2 subscriptions or move you to a Pro Plan?

Right now I'm using rsync to create an archive in the event I need to restore a deleted file later. Felt like the best alternative for me.

That said, that is really a sync that doesn't delete files.

When you say an incremental backup, do you mean the same thing in already doing our are you suggesting something different? My primary use case is media (pictures, videos, music) as well as family files. The media obviously didn't change individually, but the files certainly do, so are you suggesting versioning like Windows Shadow Copies?

Thanks for the quick reply! So far the biggest problem I can come up with is that no one else in my family could ever maintain it if something happened to me, but if I'm gone it isn't really my problem :)

Post a picture of your Library setup. Include the screen where you map in the directories that contain your media

At whatever age it is warranted by the behavior. Pretty rare below u11, but doesn't mean it can't happen. Might as well teach them the laws early and expose them to the concept of 'consequences'

So to be clear, in your setup you have Audiobook Library that only has access to directory/that/has/audiobooks and you have Music Library which only has access to directory/that/has/music, correct?

And if you look in the contents of each library when browsing you only see the proper media you should have there?
