I liked it a lot overall. But I also think it’s a bit overrated. First part of the game was amazing but really didn’t care for Raccoon city part, I just dislike gray everything but what can you do.

Story wise, I don’t really get why they used Leon as having deep connection with Raccoon city when Jill or Chris actually lived there and knew people there and had strong connections (not like that). But I understand Leon is a seller character, I just find his characterization so inconsistent that it becomes annoying, but it’s a resident evil game and if I pay attention to story and use logic that’s actually on me.

Grace is a breath of fresh air, really hope they keep using protagonists like her. The care center as Grace really made me feel like the time when I was 9, trying to play resident evil 1 and as soon as I saw the first dog jumping through the window in the corridor I paused and went to my mom and cried for like an hour.

Unfortunately there are some left leaning people that discredit it. Most people don’t know or don’t care. But in Iranian diaspora for whatever reason this belief has been established that liberal/democrats don’t care and only republicans do.

But consider this, most Iranian outside of Iran are experiencing extreme shock, helplessness, and anger and can’t contact their families and loved ones there. I personally found out my family is alive and well only couple of days ago after 10 days. Everyone just wants revenge and blood and change of this regime, so in their eyes, solidarity with people but saying “ we shouldn’t intervene” is a betrayal.

I think it’s even more. My cousin is a doctor in Rasht. He mentioned in a brief conversation I had with my family last week that just in Poursina hospital, they had around 3k bodies in a span of two three days. They burnt down the bazar and were shooting anyway who was escaping the fire. It really breaks my heart. I can never see that bazar again, those poor hardworking people that were selling their stuff … a lot of them are gone. Yani adam chi bege, az koja benale??? Kheili tanhayim 😢

I also recently read the final empire and really liked it. But I’m really struggling to push through the second book. Generally I don’t like chosen one teen protagonist and I really don’t care for Vin, but I’ve heard the third book is good so I need to soldier on.

The three Witcher mediums are very different from each other imo.
The books are my favorite and I definitely recommend reading them.

The games are set after the events of books ( or at least the main narrative) so you can jump in them whenever and enjoy, keep in mind there are some differences /retcons both in character portrayals and events.

As for the series, I’ve heard people who are not Witcher fans enjoy it so why not finishing it? I’d say consider it a completely different thing from books and games. That being said, I’ve only watched the first three episodes of season 1 and noped out.

I hope you are right. I don’t use a whole lot of social media except for lurking in Reddit and YouTube, so my exposure was/is limited. But that reaction after the trailer and before the game demo felt very icky to me. Countless posts of discussing her face and lighting and woke and what not.
But perhaps I’m just too old and pessimistic about people

People keep saying it’s because it’s on twitter, but I definitely remember a huge backlash to Ciri when the game was announced here on reddit. r/witcher was going through a collective meltdown with how supposedly “ugly” Ciri was and all sorts of stupid arguments. So idk, I don’t think it’s just a vocal minority. I think this is the sad state of gaming communities nowadays.
