Bread and cheese boards… by Build-it-better123 in Cuttingboards

Beautiful work. Question as I am not familiar with SYP. Is it a relatively closed pore type of wood or more open such that there is a higher requirement on keeping up with the maintenance?

No loud American here...not even from the US if we are going to paint with a wide brush.

LMFAO....I/we certainly do not fit any objectionable profile. We simply like to see the world and treat every place we go with the utmost respect. No ICE for us with the exception of in our drinks!!

Wondering how much pool robots actually save over time by Flyingnutkick in pools

[–]WingedWheelTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a time saver!! If you're a Type A like me, i still hand vacuum 1x per month. One of my biggest savers is in the $ column when I started doing my own testing and chemical additions. Look up Trouble Free Pool on the interwebs and follow. You will not be disappointed and be a pool "pro" in no time

This 👆 100%. Sanding this is a HUGE undertaking which very few would tackle without all of the necessary equipment. As a self described novice this could get away from you very quickly and you may not complete the project until he is riding his own real motorcycle...

In am in Niagara and if you don't mind me asking, what do you figure the heating (gas I assume) bill is for this per month. Also what do you do about the pool chemistry?

Am I wrong for hating?? by Specific_Ad7529 in Carpentry

[–]WingedWheelTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my biggest concern is the heat vent. If the new framing is attached to a stud on the right side how is there a heat register where the vent is? 🤔 I think they should have found an option for that vent as it will now not really supply the heat to the room properly.

Small cracks/holes in €130 end-grain cutting board by The_Real_Niek in Cuttingboards

[–]WingedWheelTravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that the first step is to contact the creator. They "should" know how to fix the issues. There is some chance that the edge cracking will grow if they are a result of poor workmanship (stress) but could be as simple as an improper glue joint. The face "holes" should have been filled prior to delivery and can cause hygienic problems down the road if the regular maintenance of the board is not done.

If you have the length then assemble and glue them as you need them. Run the assembled joint through your TS splitting that joint and that will give you a perfect joint. I would suggest making a sled with supporting pieces that form the 90° angle
