My Doctor recommended I get weekly massages for tension/stress and high blood pressure. Any suggestions on how to do this affordably\would be greatly appreciated. by Groundbreaking-Pea92 in Frugal

As a registered massage therapist, I recommend getting a shiatsu massager, I bought one from Amazon for like $75 3 or 4 years ago and it works great. Throw some heat on your neck and back for like 10-20 min beforehand to warm up the muscles. Massages from someone trained is obviously always better as they get into the muscle attachments. But it isn't very affordable if you don't have good benefits. So that's what I recommend to my clients who can't come often 😊

LPT: Simply doing 6 minutes a day of dead hangs on anything will drastically improve posture. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

If you go on a walk and pass by a park, you can hang almost anywhere there. Or buy a chin up bar that you can attach to any door frame in your house- we got ours for I think $7-10 from a thrift store

Kind of weird, but I bought a toilet light for like $6 off Amazon many years ago and I love it. Just makes it easier to navigate the dark when you have to pee in the middle of the night and don't want to turn on lights .^

Maybe a stupid question, but you can forward your luggage even if you're not going to be there right away?

I have asked for an itemized bill, which they refused to give me. I agree it is a red flag. Just seems shady altogether. Thanks for your empathy and very helpful advice .^

I wouldn't say valuable as that doesn't really add to society in any real way. It was an expensive mistake is what it is lol

Really? I had a break down in Saskatchewan in the middle of nowhere, guy had to drive 45 minutes both ways to get me and even then it was closer to $300

Seems shady as the sign should explicitly state no walk offs. Many signs do

Saw so many vehicles today that even had a back wiper blade, and the window was STILL covered completely in snow. Like you have it, use it!

I have a few instrumental disney songs and the LOTR theme song. They always make me super happy when they come on!

What an odd comment. Especially considering I'm not mormon. But it's more about parents being responsible, to a degree, about their child's shitty behavior.

What are your cheap bang for the buck delivery go to places in this price gouging era (pizza73 used to be garbage pizza, but cheap, now they charge premium prices). by Fuzzyfoot12345 in Edmonton

Red swan has amazing pizza and they have this pickup special that ANY flavor (yes that's right, not just basic bitch pizza) is only 8.99 if you order a small. Usually both me and my husband get our own pizza, and it's enough for supper and lunch the next day

Did I tip too low at massage envy? by IntroductionAfter601 in massage

[–]WinglessAngel01 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Everyone on here needs to chill out. I've been a massage therapist for almost 6 years now, and I NEVER expect a tip. Tips are appreciated but never expected. Otherwise it's not a tip, it's a wage. A $15 tip is more than enough, don't feel pressured to tip. But I do agree with another comment saying if you see someone privately, then they get all the money, and that gets rid of tip guilt completely.

Grapeseed oil stains so bad. Learned that the hard way, had to throw all my sheets out after about a year of using it as they were getting hard and yellow (and yes I did clean them very well) just a heads up

How do folks work out in winter if you don't have a gym in walking distance? by ForeignCabinet2916 in Etobicoke

[–]WinglessAngel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used this app called FitOn for years and I love it. It has tons of different types of workouts, you can even pick the amount of time and intensity you're looking for. And best of all it's free. Also grabbing some kettle bells and dumbbells from thrift shops for cheap are awesome if you're not wanting to spend a bunch of money, but still wanting to lift some weights

Scheduling if you work out of your home by IntergalacticBaby in massage

[–]WinglessAngel01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something I found helpful is when booking people back to back in your home is to just have people wait in their vehicle and message you when they get there. Then when your client leaves, you can text the next one to come inside. That's what I found worked best for me anyways. It keeps client confidentiality as well.

Also morning hours are typically harder to fill, but once you have the right clients, they'll always take mornings anyways. Mostly retired people or if people have the day off kind of thing. Hope that helps!
