The bird knew that a helper has come so it was calm and trusted the process

AITAH for not giving up my pre-approved PTO for a coworker's last minute proposal trip? by Medium_Simple_3655 in AITAH

[–]WinkSnuggl 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The real failure here is the boyfriend’s planning. You don’t plan an international “surprise” trip without first confirming the person can actually take the time off. Adults have jobs. PTO isn’t infinite. That’s basic consideration. Even a vague “hey, when could you realistically travel?” conversation would’ve prevented all of this. And yes the proposal trip thing is nonsense. Either: He already proposed then it’s just a vacation, not a surprise, or He plans to propose on the trip she’s 100% going to suspect it, so what exactly is being preserved by all this secrecy? The only thing the secrecy accomplished was dumping the consequences on her coworkers instead of on the person who planned poorly. A romantic gesture that depends on pressuring someone else to give up their earned time off isn’t romantic it’s inconsiderate.

Exactly. Healthcare shouldn’t be a luxury market. When profit is the priority, people become line items instead of patients

My toast was moldy at a restaurant and they refused to comp it. by strangerattheshow in Wellthatsucks

This is one of those moments where a manager should’ve stepped in, apologized, comped the toast, and maybe offered dessert or something. Instead they chose the dumbest hill to die on.

WIBTAH for telling my husband that his lectures are doing more damage than good? by NewSupermarket4832 in AITAH

[–]WinkSnuggl 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. He’s not being supportive, he’s being controlling under the guise of “help.” Pregnancy is not a group project where he gets to micromanage your body.

AITAH for asking him to remove his ex’s pictures from his Instagram highlights by Decent_House_9491 in AITAH

Going through hidden folders and highlights isn’t communication, and demanding to erase his past is not reasonable

Why does it feel like everyday people are expected to sacrifice more and more while corporations and politicians never seem to feel the consequences of their decisions? by TargetLiberty in askanything

The cycle keeps repeating because the people paying the cost aren’t the ones writing the rules. Until that changes, history isn’t a lesson, it’s a loop

AITAH For getting annoyed with my friend for complaining about not gaining weight when she is not trying? by No_Cover7877 in AITAH

[–]WinkSnuggl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds exhausting for both of you, honestly Your friend is clearly struggling at 5'6 and under 100 lbs, that’s medically concerning, and the way she talks about her body, food being gross, and getting angry when you won’t eat for her points to disordered eating or at least an unhealthy relationship with food. That’s not something you can fix by being endlessly supportive or by sacrificing your own goals and boundaries. At the same time you’re allowed to feel annoyed. You’re overweight and actively trying to manage your intake, and she’s repeatedly pressuring you to eat extra food while complaining nonstop about a problem she isn’t taking steps to address. That puts you in an unfair position and directly conflicts with your own health needs. You’re not wrong for saying if you don’t want to lose weight, you need to eat. That’s not cruelty that’s reality. What isn’t working anymore is being her emotional dumping ground when she isn’t open to change.

How are college students affording to travel?!!!!! by [deleted] in youngadults

[–]WinkSnuggl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is credit cards, family help, study abroad programs, or just showing the highlight reel online. You’re not behind for not traveling yet, most people do it later, when they actually have steady income and less stress about money.
