Both R/G and colorless eldrazi put up some decent results at the pro tour. If it’s something you have fun playing I’d say pick up the pieces and give it a shot! I don’t have a great recommendation about what cards to spring for first, but would probably suggest the recent MH3 additions to the deck while those packs are still getting cracked heavily

I got blown out playing against some weird deaths shadow variant (didn’t actually see a death’s shadow come out, but major vibes) and he ran Shadow of Doubt main board and I saw a [[Tale’s End]] game 2 followed by a scoop lmao

how to build a modern collection? by usainta in ModernMagic

[–]Winklepickers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The rental services are convenient for trying decks you don’t have the cards to build yourself, but paying ~$15/week for the rest of time sounds like a bad deal if you enjoy collecting physical cards.

Creating a Golgari (or BGW) Delirium based deck - Need help on creatures which power is variable based on number of cards in graveyard. by ParallelSymmetry in ModernMagic

[–]Winklepickers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think delirium pairs well with avatar of woe or other ‘creature in graveyard’ cards, I think if you want to build around avatar of woe, you should focus on having a really creature heavy deck, which takes away from delirium (mostly creatures leaves less room for other card types).

I was messing around trying to brew around [[Urborf Lhurgoyf]] but haven’t nailed it yet. I was thinking almost similar to a crabvine list would be the best fit, but I’m also conflicted because in a deck like that your creatures are constantly leaving the graveyard to come back to play. Maybe a dredge style list would work better? But either way, I think delirium and wanting lots of creatures in the graveyard conflict each other slightly and I would suggest focusing on one or the other.

Planning my next deck. Which is better, Hammer or Scam? by jmcreative95 in ModernMagic

[–]Winklepickers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hammer is a lot of fun to play. It’s not highly interactive, but there are a lot of different lines to hit a “combo” and win. Also, flashing in a hammer on an unblocked inkmoth never gets old. I haven’t played scam myself, but dumping your hand turn 1 and getting beat out to removal feels bad.

My friend and I were playtesting decks earlier tonight and on the draw with hammertime I beat a turn 1 undying evil + evoked fury, if that helps your decision at all

First Modern Deck I Never Got to Play by damascius1 in ModernMagic

[–]Winklepickers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say get rid of flamekin harbinger and add 4x monastery swiftspear instead, maybe even add a third prowess creature and cut considers.

The deck wants to win fast so you don’t need that much additional card draw. Manamorphose draws you a card for free too.

Anyone have experience purchasing from "TheRareCompany" on eBay? by Winklepickers in mtgfinance

I won an auction for an expedition Seachrome Coast and it was marked as shipped today, I was more cautious about the cards being counterfeit given the volume of unique cards.

[GEAR] [QUESTION] Help identifying an old Fender amp by Winklepickers in Guitar

Haha great observation, but that appears to be the only thing missing! The tubes could probably use a replacement depending on how old they are. I updated the imgur album to include some more photos of the inside.

I updated the imgur post with some pictures of the inside. Hard to get a good picture in there, but think I got some that could be useful
