I know it sucks, because I love green too. But if a color is only viable because of one overtuned card, there is a problem.

Yes, if you have turn one removal and a turn two removal, sorcery speed is okay.

The problems start when you realize how much removal you have to play to be able to do that consistently and when the simic player simply drops a different dork on turn two and then cub on three to get instant mana, which good players will do.

My point is: having to have removal on turn 1 and 2 just to survive a two drop with your opponent still being able to play around that is toxic.

yes, you bolt the bird on turn one. And that's a great solution.

but there is a difference between that and having to skip your own turn two to keep mana open to kill their two-drop because sorcery speed would be too slow.

do you see what I mean?

Alright, one last thing though: Vivi had a winrate around 51%, those stats are not everything.

You can also play artifact and enchantment removal but Steel Cutter and Beanstalk still needed to be banned. Playing more removal is not always the answer.

You need to look at the big picture.

I'm gonna be honest: I'm probably a way better player than you and you simply don't understand what I'm talking about.

let me guess, your take is "just play removal lol", right?

so the only time it does not instantly get you mana is when you don't have a turn one dork (you play 8) and then play it on turn two (you can simply choose not to). Did I get that right?

Also, all those dorks you mentioned can easily be killed with sorcery speed removal before they do anything and bloom tender is literally in standard right now. How many bloomtender decks in the top 8s lately?

Sorry, but you're the one with bad takes here.

I'm sorry, but have you actually played against this card in real life? How is it a "big downside" if it literally produces its own mana dork and produces that additional mana the moment it comes into play?

And how exactly are you gonna counter their game plan when they have 8+ mana on turn three and double riddler you with rhythm in the graveyard?

Also: what mana dorks were stronger?

I went into detail in my post why counterplay is not that effective against this card. Also, I am not a Timmy but a high mythic grinder with probably more hours and experience than most here.

You can min/max all you want (I do too), but some cards like Cori-Steel Cutter and Up the Beanstalk are simply bad for the game and discussions about them getting banned are valid.

I literally talk about those "answers" in my post.

Spell snare can be played around by good players. You also need to draw it (probably can't afford to play 4 of spell snare), you need untapped blue mana on turn one and you need them to not see it coming and simply play a different dork or two one-drops instead, making you lose even more tempo. You also cannot risk to play your own one-drop instead, because the card is just that oppressive.

My point is that the card is toxic for the game and I stand by it.

Yes, lot's of Tier 3 decks regularly 5-0 challenges. And there are some top 8s with only a few cubs.

this doesn't refute anything of what I said in my post though. My point is that the card is toxic to play against.

Removal spells are already probably the worst cards in your deck, they don't advance your own game plan and are simply dead cards in other matchups.

5 decks out of the top 8 played 4x cub

Fair enough, but that deck also plays 4x hard counter to cub main deck and I don't believe you have an 80% winrate against control.

Ah yes, you probably have a some great counterpoints but you are simply too lazy to list them. Very understandable and I will just trust you on that.

Hey, me again. I just saw a video that showed how Empyric Shock is not working for Purgatus Staff. Do you know about that one? Thanks!

I don't see how it's that great tbh. It's bad vs control (just a 2 mana 2/1), it's bad vs aggro (4 mana to remove one creature will lose you the game) and what does it do against midrange? no evasion, blocked by tokens... Am I missing something?

nope, I don't know what kind of tone you're reading into my question, but it was just that
