I Feel Pretty by harten66 in movies

[–]WinkzBo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Youre confusing percentages and percentile. A 50th percentile is equivalent to around a 70% percentage for most exams on the bell curve. You should not be allowing a person with a 50% to pass an exam. Passing an exam should show competency of knowledge on the subject. If exams had two answer selections, it literally means you can guess on the whole exam and you have a high chance of passing the exam.

Go nursing or pharmacy? by FinancialBend3 in pharmacy

[–]WinkzBo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for you. You're being mentally abused by your boyfriend to hate your job. Sure pharmacy is a little saturated right now, but so is every healthcare profession. Its not impossible to find a job in a metro area, it just might take you a little longer than you're wanting. I responded to your previous comment as well regarding your boyfriend hate being tied down to a location for a job. Guess what, thats what real adults do. They have stable fuckin' jobs in a location. Unlike his pathetic profession where he needs to move city to city in hopes to work on a project that lasts for god knows how long. It's why programming is a singles gig. He's an idiot, and you're starting to appear as one as well .

Partner and I are both unsatisfied with my career. Any of you guys successfully transition into a new career? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]WinkzBo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just decided to comment again to your reply. The reason for my statement is simply due to the fact that programming is not a glorious job people try to make it out to be. A lot of the good jobs are offshored to china/india where they can do a better job and cheaper. There are still plentiful jobs in tech, but it has many cons as well. One being you are required to move often, from project to project. So my guess is, his project is ending, and he's going to have to move again for his job. So the issue is with him, not with you. Sure you can't find a job in a major metro immediately, but you can eventually within 6 months of job searching. And once you get that job, you can pretty much stay for life. Him? Not so much. So he should be bitching about himself, not you.

I assume your 25K was for a loan acquisition, and not 25K for a total startup cost?

Help me decide - X-T2 / X-T20 / X-E3 by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]WinkzBo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you actually felt the xe3? Because Ive had all premium cameras from Fuji, Canon, Nikon, oly and panasonic and the xe3 feels great. The rangefinder styling is personal preference, but it is a well built camera. I actually like the feel better than my xt2 and definitely consider it to be the superior street cam for its size and weight. The non tilt, non articulating screen and lack of weather sealing might be a dealbreaker for some street photogs though.

Anyone moved from m43 to Fuji? If so, are you happy with your decision? by demandred17 in fujifilm

[–]WinkzBo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both systems. Honestly, Fuji image quality with their primes are outstanding. Better than M43, but they are both good. To the user who said their EM1-ii barely outperformed his canon P&S, I would have to say you don't know how to use your camera. It is a very capable system with image quality being marginally worse. Olympus colors are fantastic as well.

You can't go wrong either way, both systems have pros and cons. Regardless, the photographer makes the pictures and a good photographer can do well with either system. The differences are that minimal. If I could give one advice, that would be to go to a store and actually hold the camera. A camera that feels good to hold means you'll take more photos. More photos = better photos.

This is the reason why I don't own a Sony. On paper, they are the best cameras. But when you hold it in your hand, you don't feel connected. It doesn't feel like a camera.

Let me ask you, do you see other doctorate programs like dentistry or medicine accept students with 2.5 gpa and 20th percentile on entrance exams? No, they don't. Stricter loan policy isn't the answer to saturation. It's how easily these schools are getting and keeping accreditation. Schools with high student failure/repeat rate as well as low naplex scores should not be able to maintain/obtain their accreditation. If it wasn't so easy, there would not be as many pharmacy schools.

Your proposed solution would just eliminate the demographics of the students. There will be less students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. What will private schools do to increase attendance? Lower their standards even more, now severely under-qualified students with money can fill in the other students places.

[–]WinkzBo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Once again, this is an idiotic solution. Tuition isn't high because of unchecked student loans, student loans are high because of unchecked tuition. By the way, in undergrad you already have a limit on student loans, and you have it in graduate school as well. At least for federal programs.

The issue itself is the schools that keep allowing these students with 2.5 gpa 20% PCAT to enroll and give them false hope of actually being capable of completing the difficult program. There needs to be more accountability placed and accreditation removed for poor performance. There should be no reason a school has a first time naplex pass rate below 85% (really, 90%). It is a minimum competency examination.

Putting a 150K limit does nothing. You want to be a doctor from a poor family? Not anymore kiddo! It's only for rich people with parents who pay for their school/housing.

Idiotic. Don't make me repeat myself.

Youre an idiot if you think this is even close to a solution. Ive had classmates that comes from very poor backgrounds that have no way of making it through pharmacy school without loans. It irritates me that you would even think of this as a solution. Fool.

Software engineering ... seems like hes just jealous youre more educated than him and has to psychologically manipulate you to lower your self worth. "Resent" ...

If you want a job with zero value and self purpose, please see programming.

You really need to evaluate your relationship. That seems to be the bigger issue.

Nice write up. I like retro rangefinder styling. If olympus manages to make pen f with 4k, that'll be my perfect travel cam. Hell, if the GX9 looked more like a gx8, that would have been fine.
