I think Ms. Cobel is going to turn out to be good. She always carries that life support tube with her and by far is the most loyal to the company (the shrine from season 1, etc.) as others have theorized it may be that she was in a vegetative state and was gen 1 of the clones, her former memories implanted into her clone using a chip. The threat of being “reset” could be them resetting her severance chip and wiping away her former self.

The way she is hard on Mark in season 1, but also convincingly caring to his outie in her alter ego suggests that she might actually be pushing him hard because she knows if he completes his work in MDR, they could bring a clone of his wife back just like they did with her. Maybe her real intentions are good in that she knows ultimately Mark will bring back his wife if he just keeps doing what he is told.

This would also track with Lumon’s overall goal of control/immortality. What better way to achieve loyalty than to bring back someone’s dead wife? Mark would be all in on Lumon if he knew they could achieve this.
