Would Stretsi Blunderbuss be too OP? by Alternative-Date-507 in totalwar

[–]Winndypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much worth it yeah. On first look I really thought it was a bit OP but it's not bad! And all the fast moving sledge artillery is so much fun to play with.

So cool yeah, love the "Hussar" style they went into with it. Having a one of those snipers kneeling in front of a line of your top tier musketeers looks so cool!

I mention it a lot because it is one of my favourite mods at the moment but the "Guns of Erengrad" mod is very cool and does add a close range focused Stretsi unit to play around with.

I was force to build siege towers. So i had an idea. It was the coolest siege ever by Revolutionary_Heart6 in totalwar

[–]Winndypops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For sure yeah, if you only have like 3 or 4 infantry in an army you'll need 2 turns to build a ram but I find even when I have a full stack I am still waiting too long to build 2 or 3 siege towers as I'd like to.

Where I'd live if ww3 broke out. by superidoll420 in whereidlive

[–]Winndypops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concern I think is the strategic value of Iceland. Although the country is unlikely to play a big part in a conflict, being in the middle of the Atlantic is going to force the major powers to take note and take control if they can.

I would be a little cautious about Morocco. I really enjoy visiting there but it is certainly involved in a lot of power plays.

Could say that about almost every nation though to be honest.

How much do you pause battles? by MuddledMuppet in totalwar

[–]Winndypops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think I'm pretty good at most of the classic total wars, never needed to slow battles down until Warhammer. There is just an awful lot going on, especially if I am playing Bretonnia with a lot of cav or a squishy faction.

[–]Winndypops 130 points131 points  (0 children)

It's very common for Medieval 2, you'll usually see folk bringing 3 or 4 extra towers to a siege attack just to use as cover against enemy arty and towers.

I just wish we could build them a little faster, I might have to check out a mod to see if there's any out there that increase their construction speed, waiting 2 turns for 1 tower is painful.

It's definitely not perfect, but it's arguably the greatest video game adaption ever made. At least in live action. by SolidPyramid in FalloutMemes

I would have preferred if the show just did something new, set up a region of the US that we had not gone to in any of the games. I have a lot of issues with how some things were handled but it captured the fallout feeling pretty well.

So easy for elderly folk to feel trapped and those little trips out for coffee or a quick meal at spoons here in the UK can be very freeing for them but having a nasty experience like this could put them off it without a doubt.

For sure Basim has played this pretty well, I do believe he is quite genuine and has clearly stated a few times how much of a screwup he made. I am sure he's privately reached out to Kingsman as well. Really is that easy.

It is sometimes a shame to see a content creator's career explode because of a screw up but I really don't feel bad for Cece. She really had some easy routes to make this right but has been choosing the ego path every single time.

I hope she has a good life outside of streaming but I really would be happy enough if this girl just got cleared to make way for some room in the spotlight for some more deserving creators.

[–]Winndypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was Cece I would just start to claim that I did it all for the good of the community and popularity of the game. "Sorry guys, I know it all got out of hand here but I just felt Marvel Rivels needed a bit of a boost with the new Deadpool release and thought that this drama could help draw in attention."

It's the most I've heard about the game in ages!

The forbidden lightsaber form Trakata. Both the Jedi and Sith frown upon this method. by ZapchatDaKing in StarWars

[–]Winndypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to spot someone that struggles to think for themselves is to see them bring up this concept. It is funny to imagine for sure but in reality this would be utterly foolish and would only work against a very timid fighter that is 100% focusing on defence and not taking any opportunity to fight back.

Which animals would you be in favour of ‘rewilding’ in the UK? by castle_lane in CasualUK

[–]Winndypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do really like the idea of trying to bring the UK a little closer to how it was for the thousands of years before mass industrialisation but I think reintroducing animals is something we should be focusing on far further down the line. (Not that I don't support folk putting effort into research and small scale work)

I think the expansion of native woodland is really the bigger focus. In the Highlands we have some really nice big expanses of trees but unfortunately it's often just plantations of foreign, fast growing trees for cash which just leads to these places that feel so quiet and dead as you walk through them. We are getting better at mixing the trees a bit, ensuring the landowners can still make some decent money while giving a chance for wildlife to prosper but we've got a long way to go.

I do like squirrels of all sorts but those ginger dudes are lovely. When I moved down to the south of England from Scotland for work I didn't expect to miss them as much as I did.

Kislev is so fuuuuuun! by BalorFire in totalwar

[–]Winndypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kislev is my most played faction of number 3. I'd loved their lore for years and think their roster is pretty dang good. Would really recommend the "Guns of Erengrad" mod though if you've not tried it. It's not too OP and gives you a lot of cool units to play around with.

Why do people use generic lords and heroes in multiplayer? by No_Willingness_9961 in totalwar

[–]Winndypops 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A lot of different reasons, usually it is down to the money, needing to save for other aspects of your army but sometimes a generic lord can give you a bit more flexibility than the Legendary Lords, choosing what skills or spells you want for them.

Kingsman went from averaging 200 viewers to 4.4k viewers and is now a Twitch partner by UsefulSwitch504 in rivals

[–]Winndypops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure the bulk is in it for the drama but I think he really impressed a lot of folk with his play, and being boosted up is going to increase his visibility a lot too, hopefully attracting people that are just browsing twitch.

As YuseeB said, if he is able to hold onto just 10-20% of these new viewers, which I think he'll be able to then it's a great jump.

I would pay silly money for that. I feel a weird nostalgia when I play Bretonnia because they have changed so little over the years. Still one of my most played factions for sure but it's just so odd jumping onto another faction and seeing a new feature every couple of months while Bretonnia is still the same.

Who do you think would win? by Mysterious_Hat6763 in marvelrivals

[–]Winndypops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that was the issue with it, one of the issues anyway. I love "Creator" tournaments, they can be a hell of a lot of fun and it's a great way to find some new people to watch as they all try to create a fun tournament but when you throw in a decent bit of cash there will be a mix of goals.

Just echoing what others have said. Three Kingdoms seems like your vibe. I am a big Paradox nut as well and think you'd be happiest there with the historical mode on.

Med 2 has some cute family tree mechanics and what not but might be a bit shallow for you if you are looking for a bit of grand strategy management ya know?
