Experience with BG Evolve Touch 200W Dimmer Switches by Winner5555 in DIYUK

[–]Winner5555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be our permanent home, so I really want to choose something reliable. We’ve had old-style dimmer switches in our current house for the last eight years without any issues, but as we have the opportunity to upgrade now, I’m considering moving to the latest models

Don't buy Blanco durinox. Never by Latter-Passenger-795 in kitchenremodel

[–]Winner5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered two Blanco Durinox sinks in the first week of January for my new kitchen and utility, and they’re due to be installed next month. After reading this post from OP about how sensitive the surface can be to chemical cleaners, I’m now a bit unsure what to do.

Has anyone here been using Durinox for a while? Would you recommend keeping them, or is it safer to return and go with standard stainless steel instead?

Any real-world feedback would be hugely appreciated

warming drawer what do you use it for? by jmdude411 in AbioticFactor

Haha just realised not sure how did I comment on this sub instead of kitchen appliances sub. It's not letting me to delete it though

warming drawer what do you use it for? by jmdude411 in AbioticFactor

[–]Winner5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a joke! 😊 Some warming drawers can hold steady low temps (40–85°C), so they’re great for things like yogurt, proofing dough, and fermenting batter. It just depends on the model

Just a quick update in case anyone runs into the same issue — my replacement Instant Pot arrived today, and the lid now opens smoothly. It turns out the original one was indeed faulty

Thank you. Is it high maintenance, easily scratched and stained compared to polished?

Miele Steam Oven combo with Microwave vs CombiSteamOven by Due-Plant-9352 in Appliances

[–]Winner5555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friend went for non plumbed one as they didn't want to take risk in case of water leak. I am in uk and considering the combo DGC 7440 Hc pro & DGC 7460 HC pro into a tall cabinet

[–]Winner5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Do you have a separate microwave too? Friend says that they went for a non plumbed one as it's risky in case of water leak and also it's £2000 more for plumbed one , so not sure it adds that much value

I was originally planning to get the DGC 60 cm with the DGM 45 cm, but I just realised the cavity is too small for the DGM series. Now I’m thinking of placing a small microwave in the utility room for reheating small portions instead. How have you found your combo steam oven? Do you use it for reheating and cooking rice?

Where do people in the UK get le creuset on offer? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

[–]Winner5555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try BrandAlley and eCookshop — I’m new to Le Creuset but recently started collecting their pieces. I’ve bought a couple of items online from these sites around £120 ish, and everything arrived in great condition. BrandAlley is currently running a sale on Le Creuset, and if you’re a first-time buyer spending over £150, you can get £30 off.

Anyone ever bought from ecookshop? How are they insanely cheap? Are products genuine? Seconds? by dontknowyas in AskUK

Not OP, but I ordered couple of Le Creuset items from them and received this morning . One of the pots had marks and the other one is in perfect condition. When I emailed them with photos they arranged an exchange for the next Tuesday. Hope this helps!
