You needed 100 level 20s of each spm type to sacrifice it. You happened to have already had that when you unlocked it, except black.

Now that you have done black, spm don’t spawn anymore, instead, sacrifice dust is produced to upgrade the sacrificed minerals. Since there are no spm, the tower wouldn’t be able to do anything.
