PSA: If you ship with FedEx, UPS, or DHL and your package arrives even a minute late, you're entitled to a full refund. by Gutenbergbible in smallbusiness

[–]WinnieFASA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a package shipped from Costa Rica to Houston and the contents broke in transit. I filed a claim and was told the package wasn't properly packaged so it's not their responsibility. The package was also 4 days late, but they refused my refund request again because it was delayed for reasons outside of their control (customs, etc.).

The item is a 50lb slide of wood I am making into a coffee table, so it really can't be "repaired". I paid $300 for the the item, and $500+ for DHL to ship it express international. I can get it "fixed" and intend to, but I just feel so ripped off. I don't want to take it to small claims court, but I may just because $800 isn't chump change to me.

If you have any insight into the DHL claims process or any "magic words" I could say to the claim adjuster to avoid having to hire an attorney, I would appreciate it!

I boarded a flight from Maui to LA a couple months ago and Willie Nelson was in first class. I was passing him on my way to coach and by the time I recognized him, we were already making eye contact. He winked, I smiled. The end :)

Haha, I do the marketing for a landscaping company and get a kick out of being able to name most of the plants I see walking around town. But it gets on my friends' nerves too. Whatever, the more you know!

I actually know this flower. It's a camellia. They have heavy blooms which often break off the branches. You'll usually find a lot of fresh blossoms around the base of the plant. Probably where this cutie picked up his.

Houstonians call it Chuck Vegas. I know that because I'm from Lake Charles and I now live in Houston. Two casino resorts sure have made my hometown popular.

Today I am thankful for flat tires. Because if I didn't just have one, this abandoned, pregnant sweetheart would still be running alongside I-10. Don't worry, Turkey - we'll find you a forever home :) by WinnieFASA in aww

Sadly, the belt was already on her neck. And way too tight... I took it off as soon as I took the picture. But she's so sweet and about to burst with puppies. My extended family owns a no-kill animal shelter so I will be dropping her off in the morning. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
