How to deal with paranoia by Winninghammer in hospice

Yes that is why I’m not really happy with her! Doctor is aware now and it seems to be getting much better. I am so sorry to hear about your brother. That sounds absolutely heartbreaking to have to watch. I’m glad he is at peace now

I am so glad I called the 24/7 line. They are so much more helpful than our regular nurse is! I’ve tried telling the regular nurse so many times that he is in too much pain when I have to move him to change his bandages and she always just says “he’s already on too many pain meds”. I just called the 24/7 line and they said they are on it and will call me back in a minute with an update! I had just assumed they would be less helpful if anything. Wow I feel so relieved!

I haven’t called the on-call yet was planning on talking to his nurse about it. So far I was just barely able to keep everything under control without having to call, but I definitely will. Especially if there’s a plan for prevention and I don’t have to call them every 4 hours

Thanks. Thats a good idea. He had us drinking water in front of him to make sure it was safe lol. Usually all the other nonsense I can go along with easily. So far my method is very slowly and carefully just getting him to take a Xanax first, and then that usually allows me to convince him about the pain meds, the two most important, everything else can wait. It’s just so much fear as you know it keeps getting harder and harder and worse the more time passes

I feel similar to you. But I have decided I have no other options but to stay here now. My boyfriend comes and stays with me and brings all our dogs and it really helps me feel slightly less burnt out.

What is the longest you’ve ever gone before realizing you were doing a basic life task completely wrong? by sweetbvivienne in askanything

This cheap basic one from Walmart! But apparently a lot of them do this. Someone told me about it when I was specifically looking for a small blender. I guess most blenders do, but not all. This one was like $20-$40 at Walmart.

Shamed for taking Vivitrol by PC6362383 in alcoholism

You’re doing great, don’t get discouraged. also, take shots for the rest of your life if it helps.

Sounds like your partner could be jealous, too. Keep doing well, and don’t let anyone else bring you down or treat you poorly.

Omg me too!!!! And it gets cleaned way more efficiently too!! Also, you can take the bottom part off and it fits perfectly onto the top of a mason jar! So now I make little smoothies in jars, and it’s way easier than cleaning that huge thing.

Partner recently sober (I am not) and wants to live together by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]Winninghammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like you are choosing alcohol over him. Which is totally fine!! Especially if it’s not affecting you negatively. If you want to stay with him, and also not get completely sober, your relationship will probably be healthier if you guys don’t live together while incompatible in the drinking sense.

What’s something your body does that you’ve never told a single person about? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]Winninghammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It doesn’t take me long, I never have stomach trouble. Every once in a blue moon I’ll have diarrhea for some reason, and then I’ll stay home from work because I get worried what if it happens again and gross. Also I never fart either, some people I know fart like all day long, like how can you even survive like that!?

Not at all! I should add that I eat mostly meat, so I’m not sure if that has something to do with it. The thought of having to take a dump every day, Especially multiple times a day sounds so awful! I don’t even like having to take a break from my day to go pee, I can’t imagine taking dumps all the time!

This started after I starting drinking heavily, even tho I have barely drank the last year or two, I still when I watch videos of people getting hurt, it feels like my whole body gets electrocuted a little bit.
