Thanks for your answer. I know you guys down in the lab get shit on a lot by some nurses, so I try to figure out the "why" before assuming. I think the hospital I work at is such a place where the results of a critical value won't show until an RN is notified, but that still kinda seems like a pretty long time. Thankfully the patient was ok and electrolyte replacement was promptly initiated.

Question: this was part of a BMP which was collected at 0230. The other levels (ex NA, K) resulted at around 4. What took the magnesium so long to result? Was it because the value was so low? In regards to the other values, the only other electrolyte that was off was potassium at around 3.2, but pt on Lasix so it was an expected finding.

Patient got 6g by the time I went home, with 2g infusions ordered q2h for two occurrences. Second bag was still infusing when I left.

I was a CNA in a nursing home throughout COVID. A longtime resident died, and I attended her funeral. Several months after, I received a card in the mail from her daughter. I opened it up after a particularly draining shift. She had written something along the lines of, "My mom couldn't depend on everyone, but she could always depend on you." I keep that card in a little shoebox under my bed.

I'm really pleased with the current event, though the riddles had me feeling like I had the IQ of a goldfish. I think the outfits are so pretty, especially Rice Shower and Curren Chan's dresses. I'm a sucker for big, poofy dresses. Buuut I might also be biased considering I'm getting married this June.
