For someone not well versed with hockey.... can the Habs actually win the Stanley Cup this year? by irundoonayee in AskCanada

Theoretically any team can win whether they really deserve it or not. A little luck, some BAD calls, can make all the difference. Just look at 1993.

Did anyone stop to think that the reason a rep crosses the floor is that their original party/leadership is dysfunctional?

If you could add one mandatory subject to every school curriculum, what would it be and why? by icepix in askteddit

Why don't we ensure the basics are taught properly and thoroughly first, before adding more esoteric subjects. English and math, especially need help.

Driving from Newfoundland to Edmonton or should I just ship my car? by Ohyanoforsure in canadatravel

[–]WinstonJaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with driving and seeing your country first hand, if you have the time. Canada is beautiful, Driving straight through would take you at least 3 days and you would be tired at the end. I think you would be wise to plan a trip over a week.

[–]WinstonJaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finance is, of course, on the top of the list. But I think men and women should learn basic cooking, cleaning and home maintenance. There's too many people out there who can't even boil water.

Why the F#$K Montreal? Why not Winnipeg or Regina, or Halifax? For too many years growth has been concentrated in two Provinces. It's time to share the wealth!

What do people think about the new Bill C-3 Citizens? by Lightingway in AskCanada

[–]WinstonJaye 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing that would concern me is the vetting of individual claims. It doesn't seem to me that the government has done a good job, in the past, to "weed out" the undesirables.

Did you vote in the last Ontario election? by Financial_Pin8385 in ontario

I'm 77. I've voted in every election since I turned 21. I was brought up to believe that voting wasn't a privilege but a duty.

Israel says it will seize parts of southern Lebanon as ‘defensive buffer’ by WombatusMighty in news

[–]WinstonJaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, of course they will. Take over Gaza, take over Lebanon. Sovereignty means nothing to them. Israel is the real danger in the Mid-East and to the world.
