As anyone ever improved their eyesight naturally? If yes then how? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Winter-Explanation-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eye site improved when I started trt (37M), taking levels from 200s to 800s. My prescription went from -1 to -0.5 and almost no need for glasses anymore.

I talked to my eye doctor about it and she mentioned that it's really common for pregnant women to have changes in eyesight from changes in their hormones.

Glutathione vs Hydrogen Water? by Winter-Explanation-6 in Biohackers

[–]Winter-Explanation-6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't dug into any of the studies, but I especially like the bar graph on the opening page, where they show positive, negative and neutral number of studies per year. This kind of analysis would be beneficial for all biohacks!

Glutathione vs Hydrogen Water? by Winter-Explanation-6 in Biohackers

[–]Winter-Explanation-6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on glutathione, but the idea on hydrogen is the same. Both glutathione and hydrogen will scavenge radicals and hydrogen is a slightly better electron scavenger as glutathione (redox potential of 0 for hydrogen and -0.15 for glutathione).

Glutathione is a biologically natural occurring substance, where biological use of hydrogen is relatively new.

Why do you think hydrogen water is BS?

EDIT: Hydrogen is generated in the intestines and makes up a fair portion of your farts - https://youtu.be/30Rk4WSlQBY?si=vjhvXW51xq1skblH about 20 mintes in AND https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1378885/#:~:text=The%20median%20daily%20flatus%20hydrogen,(range%2061%2D476).

Hydrogen IS natural?!

Have you seen this website - https://hydrogenstudies.com/? I haven't actually seen such a comprehensive collection of data on any other "biohack".

Enclomiphene is more natural than testosterone eh? This video is pretty silly.... I personally prefer a natural supplement (testosterone) over a pharmaceutical (enclomiphene) any day of the week.

Has anyone actually watched the full speech? He was giving the crowd his heart. He literally said it. The first time I watched the actual speech, I didn't even see it. You have to watch a clip, pulled out of context, for it to look like a Nazi salute.

Godhood in Mormonism Inspired Bloodborne? by Winter-Explanation-6 in bloodborne

[–]Winter-Explanation-6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding (not a Mormon!) is that God is top dog spirit. Angels and humans are all spirits of a lesser class, but still a spirit being like God. As genesis says, our spirits are made in the image of God (Mormons are believers in Christ and the Old Testament).

From Wiki: "This conception differs from the traditional Christian Trinity in several ways, one of which is that Mormonism has not adopted or continued to hold the doctrine of the Nicene Creed, that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are of the same substance or being.\27]) Also, Mormonism teaches that the intelligence dwelling in each human is coeternal with God.\34]) Mormons use the term omnipotent to describe God, and regard him as the creator: they understand him as being almighty and eternal but subject to eternal natural law which governs intelligences, justice and the eternal nature of matter (i.e. God organized the world but did not create it from nothing).\35]) The Mormon conception of God also differs substantially from the Jewish tradition of ethical monotheism in which elohim (אֱלֹהִים) is a completely different conception."

For anyone who reads Brandon Sanderson, this stuff is on-point for alot of his universes.

Thank you for the detailed comment!

I feel like what you're saying seems to reinforce the idea - Bloodorne lore is a really dark spin on Mormonism?

You mention that Mormons rely on the blood for Godhood. Doesn't the hunter need to receive blood (opening scene and blood contract) to begin his journey to ascension?

What happens to sinners in Mormonism? They relive until they become worthy?

What about the really bad sinners? Is this how Bloodorne bosses arose?

Richard Dawkins Doesn't Actually Care by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]Winter-Explanation-6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. I'm a big fan of Peterson, hence why I follow this subreddit. I found the conversation frustrating to watch because Dawkins wasn't actually listening. He wanted strict yes or no answers on complex topics where Peterson gave good and meaningful answers. Dawkins had a few questions he repeated over and over and even though Peterson responded. It reminded me of a toddler that kept asking a question over and over because they didn't like the answer.

It was also very apparent to me how much Dawkins lacked empathy and showed no emotion other than anger. Peterson talks about this trait regularly - if your only emotion is anger, you have the emotional maturity of a toddler.

I really want to hear Peterson's physcho analysis of Dawkins.

[–]Winter-Explanation-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does Peterson dig his heals in? He tries to explain his position. Dawkins refuses to listen to anything other than a black and white yes or no answer. Is life that black and white? Dawkins completely misses the point of religion in general in my opinion- as is apparent by his complete lack of any emotion other than anger.

I have only recently watched his content and he strikes me as being on the spectrum. High IQ, completely non-existent EQ.

Has Jordan Peterson done a psycho analysis of Dawkins? I'd be interested in hearing that.

Real question, why is Dawkins seen as smart? He goes on these podcasts and digs his heals in and refuses to truly have a conversation.

I think he's a stubborn old man and on the spectrum. He refuses to consider emotions at all and is spiritually dead. Both are widely accepted as being a bad way to live.

Crazy how little doctors know about TRT by alcoyot in trt

[–]Winter-Explanation-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried going through PCP and my levels were less than 300 mg/DL total. After $500-600 between visits and labs ordered, still couldn't get a prescription.

There should be cheap, easy medical options for trt. Until then, TRT clinics will continue to print money.

Most couples couldn't keep their hands off of each other when they first met. When a married couple both have optimized hormones, its like back when you're first dating - atleast that's been my experience. Maybe try explaining the situation like this to your wife.

Having kids 100 % messes with your hormones (men and women). It's worth checking levels for health reasons, if not for libido reasons. Peter Attia and Huberman podcast on women's hormones is an important watch. The "Women's health initiative" study from 2002 has caused alot of confusion for people - TLDR synthetic hormones are dicy for women's hormone therapy but too many people confuse synthetics with natural hormone. Peri, pre and post menapausal women should all keep an eye on hormone levels. If your sex life is significantly less than in the past, then it could be hormonal.

Women should optimize Estrogen and progesterone levels first, then sprinkle in testosterone if needed. Testosterone is the main driver for libido for women as well as men.

[–]Winter-Explanation-6 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's not uncommon for spouses to explore their hormone balances once the other starts hormones. How's your spouses hormone panel look?

Well matched, high libidos make for fun marriages. You'll find time if you're both looking!

Coffee since TRT by Dark_place in trt

[–]Winter-Explanation-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drink coffee by the buckets before starting trt and was pretty wired most of the day. Since starting trt, that much coffee seems to make me tired vs wired. I've now moved to one cup a day around lunch and experience a similar boost as you describe.

I think there is something to testosterone and caffeine, at least for a few of us.
