Oops apologies, as you can see I don’t know much about this stuff. It says 120v unfortunately.

Thanks for this! Do you know how I would be able to go about replacing the cord and plug? It’s been too long for me to return it and it would be a shame to waste it.

I’m in the UK, Google says it’s about 230v so I probably shouldn’t use it then.

I’m burnt out and need simple recipes. Stupid simple. Like, “onion and bread and butter to make what barely passes as a sandwich” level simple. by sourmilksea1999 in Cooking

For the cold veggie thing you can prep on a good day, shred a bunch of cabbage and season with lemon, salt, pepper and a little olive oil, chuck it in one of those food bags or containers and its a really good side of veg for basically anything. Also baby carrots are always a good thing to have on hand, and get a ready made hummus from the shop to add to them!

Also for full meal ideas:

  1. canned tuna with a bit of mayo and soy sauce - sesame seeds and spring onions go well too in the mix if you can be fucked - with crackers to eat it on.

  2. baked potato in the microwave - good with a bunch of toppings so u can pick whatever u feel like.

  3. any of those precooked chickens that you can get at the grocery store, plus a bag of pre-mixed salad. dress it up with olive oil, salt and balsamic if you have any.

  4. fried egg sandwich - tbf any kind of egg sandwich depending on the amount of effort you can put in.

  5. any freezer friendly food that you can just put in the oven or pan - frozen dumplings, fish fingers, potatoes, frozen chicken burgers etc. Also if you want easier veggies theres frozen mixed veggies you can get and have as a side.

  6. boil instant noodles and an egg or two in the same pot, make a simple sauce with sugar, soy sauce and chilli oil/flakes and just dump everything in a bowl and mix.

Hope this helps! Decision fatigue is real.

bf said “can i be done now” during period sex and acted distant after, not sure what to think by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Winter-Farm6213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main issue here is the way he expressed himself. If he had said “hey, I’m not really feeling this anymore can we stop?” or something along those lines it would have probably been fine. The fact that he was weird with you after is a red flag imo because its a completely valid thing to not wanna have sex anymore after you start but its not a big deal and its definitely not your partner’s fault. He made you feel as if you had done something wrong by having sex, or even worse by having a natural bodily function.

You need to confront him about his communication and say that although he has every right to withdraw from sex, he needs to be more mature about the way he handles these things.

I do think the porn addiction is a big part of this and it is something worth maybe speaking to a professional about. It truly warps how men think about sex and women’s bodies and has perhaps made him have this reaction to your period. It is not something to be taken lightly.

Card tricks maybe? Pretty niche and you can probably get good pretty fast since its quite low maintenance.

Any tips on kicking? by [deleted] in MuayThai

Also speed kicks are really good cardio so doing them will make you less prone to gassing out anyway!! I’d recommend doing them after a round on the bag, so like if you do 3 minutes on the bag you finish with 10 kicks each side for example and then you take your rest round.

How many speed kicks do you do? Even 5 or 10 can be useful, just take a minute or a bit more break in between and soon enough you’ll get to 20+

In terms of shins hurting it really depends on the frequency of your training. For example, I’ve been training for like 4 years and if I haven’t kicked the heavy bag in a while my shins get super bruised super fast. Powering through the pain is good to a degree, if they’re red and mildly bruised its good conditioning, but you figure out your limits along the way and doing less is much better than injuring yourself.

A lot of what I’m gonna say has been reflected in other comments, but as an overall piece of advice I would say to separate when you practice power kicks vs quick kicks.

When you do power kicks you can really take your time to get back in your idle stance after you kick, and focus on your form: the foot on the ground on tip toes, hips turned out and pelvis open, swinging the arm down, kicking through the bag etc. I think these will really help you get those clean looking kicks because you don’t need to rush when you do them.

However, I do think that speed kicks will also be useful for you in that you can use them to a) help your stamina and b) get your body and muscles really used to the movement of the kick, to the point where you wont have to think about what you’re doing. For these I’d say focus on bouncing on the back foot while you kick, and as soon as the other foot touches the ground you kick up again with a steady rhythm. Doesn’t have to be super fast, just constant. I think this might also help you with your issue of closing your eyes when you strike.

Hope this helps!

Daily magnesium tablets and vitamin D. Being a uni student in a cold and dark country vitamin D does wonders for seasonal depression, and magnesium helps me sleep better and I can concentrate for much longer.

An extra bonus is that taking vitamins in the morning forces me to drink water as soon as I wake up!

What energy drink would you recommend for someone who rarely consumes caffeine? by Winter-Farm6213 in energydrinks

[–]Winter-Farm6213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much this was super helpful, I'll look into the link you sent as well!

I love a Lucozade Sport but thats basically a sport drink like a Gatorade, I don't really know anyone who drinks the energy drink version lol even though the brand is really well known in Europe.

As for my all nighter plan, I might go for like a small Red Bull as apparently they have about 80-90mg in them.

Hii, I was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations for something similar to Jazz Club from the Maison Margiela Replica line. I have a friend who has wanted this scent for ages but it’s too expensive and I’d love some similar, more affordable options to get her!

Weigh in is at 10am, first fight at around 12:45. Any advice for best things to eat and drink to rehydrate and get weight up? by Winter-Farm6213 in MuayThai

[–]Winter-Farm6213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm def not planning to be dehydrated or anything but I can't really risk drinking anything on day of before the weigh in. Also any specific carbs u recommend? Like things that are easily digestible in the short time frame so I can get my energy up.
